Hello to all!! As mentioned in the title, I am a newbie and I am from Alberta Canada. I have just recently inherited  pretty much everything required for a circulating DWC 6 bucket system with 6 plants about 6 weeks into their flowering stage. 4' x 8' tent with lights, fans, ducting, pumps, timers, monitoring tools........ Also came with a 4' x 4' tent with 10 clones/ heating pad for germination, mini solarium for seedlings, lights............ Talk about a plateful!!!! For someone (myself) who has virtually no experience, I must say, I fealt a little overwhelmed. Thanks to Percy's website and this forum, I have been able to educate myself with the basic knowledge to keep these things alive. my plants are now at the 8 week mark for flowering and I feel they are slow. the buds are there, but not very big. I feel like they have likely been shocked due to having to move everything. We had to transport them during what should have been there "lights out" cycle. for transport, we pumped the reservoir off into 6 empty 5 gallon pails and transferred the plants into these buckets. we then completely drained the rs, moved everything to its new home and set everything back up. I also feel that the new environment may have caused a little shock. i have been changing the res on the Monday of every week. It seems as though the most recent res change, that they are now starting to drink about 1 gallon a day. I am using "General Hydroponics" nutrients and at the last change, I took them off of the previous owners regime of nutrients and used the nurient feed chart found on "General Hydroponics" website. I used the "week 7" schedule, however I cut the nutrients back to 80% of what they asked for.

My reservoir nutrients seem to be stable +/- the following

PH 6.0-6.2 range

PPM 970-1050 range

EC 1.9-2.0

Water temp 17 degrees celsius to 21 degrees Celsius

Tent temp has been from17 degrees (lights out) up to 25 degrees (lights on)

Would really appreciate any tips, tricks, advice and feed back. do you guys feel I could strengthen up my nutrients?

One down fall that I have noticed: previous owner started 2 different strains. 1 sour diesel- 2 trainwreck

My opinion (which doesn't mean much because I am a newbie) I feel that these two different strains in the same system have different requirements and therefore what might be good for one is not necessarily good for the other.

Nothing to add mate! seems like you've got this well under control already! well done! Temps of res perfect ec and PH good. I would not push the ph any higher than what it already is.

I would say though, look out for sings of hermie after the stress so late in flower. Lets see some pics if you can mate Smile

Welcome to Percys, its good to have you here, really glad the guides here have been able to help you man

The shock may have slowed the growth a little, but it can seem slow around week six, the next couple of weeks, ( week 8-9 is when they really start filling out. Let see a pic and we can see if they look over fed, sometimes over feeding can also stall them, 2.0 is a higher EC, but doable in RDWC if the plants are a decent size

Patience is needed too during stunted growth.  Don’t rush.  I’ve made that mistake too many times in every stage lol.  Alberta rocks for growing, best sunshine in the world down south and best dirt in the world up north.  Your set up sounds sweet I need that for the winter!

It is better to keep one’s mouth shut and let everyone think You’re a fool than to open it and prove them all right

I am very interested in the science involved. I am really looking forward to starting a fresh crop. One of my own. something I can take care of myself from day one to the end. At least that way I will know the history of the plants and I will be able to learn the characteristics and personalities of them. I will be starting a fresh crop in Sept/October and this time, I will only grow one strain. I will continue to grow a specific strain until I have perfected it.

what is the best way to lower EC without sacrificing the PPM? does that even make sense?

Ec and PPM are pretty much the same thing, just different ways of displaying it. But the plants look more than happy. Give them sometime and they will pile the weight on. Sweet set up you have mate.

What's strain are you thinking for your next grow?
