Well first foray into soil and I think I'm in an over watering issue. The plants are about 5 weeks in (tangerine dream fem auto) and just going into flower. Question is, are they recoverable or accept it's doomed to fail and just turf and start something new?
Was doing micro grow of 3 plants in a 2x2ft tent.
So thoughts, is it salvageable? Pots feel heavy and lights at 100% (2x migro 110 cobs) but a bit higher to try and get heat/ evap up and still drive as much respiration as possible.
@whereistoss You can start something new without ripping them ut for now mate..... but that soil doesn't look great. It looks very dense so drainage would be an issue and the roots can breathe so good.
These are autos right? I would consider dropping soe seeds in small pots, but with a different soil, what you have right now doesnt look great. Those seedlings can veg along side the plants you have there on 18/6.
Are they recoverable... yes, they always are, but will it be worth the trouble... I dont know mate thats up to you. But I would be starting more either way Go for a different soil this time though. Canna Terra is good shit if youre on a budget, but anything from a garden centre will do fine most the time too. Lots to choose from. Tell us more... where youre from, whats your budget, do you have any experience growing in soil?

@macky Ah thanks Macky, yeah here in Aus, first crack at soil and yes I think it's too dense. May be best to go back to coco or redo my kratky hydro experiment. Was hoping for low effort run. Damn annoying was looking forward to these seeds as have been saving for a few years.
@whereistoss Did you save them? Don't beat yourself up about overwatering. Overwatering is the most common mistake to make in soil grows. I made the mistake of watering until run off after I just transplanted into a bigger pot. (Just tired and was in a hurry to get to bed.) It's not the first time and can very well happen to me again. I just have to remember to water the plant not the pot.
I work a full-time job and I just cannot afford the time to try and baby sit my sick plants. I just have to start over. I wanted to try the Hydrogen Peroxide trick but I am sure it is too late now for my Iron Cindy. I usually have some dry soil in a bucket, however, I don't this time. I saved plants before by transplanting them into a bigger pot of dry soil. They key thing is the roots need air and too much water will drown them.

@superc cheers for reply. Just too far gone being autos too. Was about 6 weeks in and going into flower so was going to be up against clock to turn it around.
Pulled them and started again in a kratky hydro set up with three newbies.
Did one run with this method a few months ago so prob see how it goes again. Will post run on forum. Two Blueberry gum and a white og.
Oh also soil is based on TGs and others super soil recipes. Used local Aus amendments etc to get same npk etc ratios. I feel the worm castings (bunnings) I had are too damn boggy to use.
@whereistoss I agree about the worm castings. I always add worm castings 1:1 ratio with spring water rinsed perlite. Worm castings function most excellent as a soil builder, however compresses easily when watered. The rinsed perlite helps it hold air (oxygen) that the roots need.
I found that cannabis struggles a lot with all the wood chips. Perhaps they do the same with the soil you are using too. Perhaps you could use something to scoop out all the wood chips and use perlite or something else to aerate your soil and worm castings.

@bogan I use a pick tool to move as much wet soil to the top and get some dry soil from the top to the bottom. I use the pick tool to move around and loosen up the soil the best that I can without disturbing the roots.
Transplanting into a bigger pot is good idea if you keep some dry soil around for such an emergency.

@whereistoss Verasoil? What type of soil diversity do you have in your area of Aus, I'm on the edge of black soil that meets red river floodplains with coarse sand to use as a perlite substitute and full organic nuits from good ol Bunnings. My healthiest plant by far is in it so I've swapped everything to this formula. Pity I couldn't bag some of mine and send it to u
