Hey everyone, been a while since i was on here. hope everyone is well and safe in these tough times.

Im trying to get a rough nutrient schedule together for my auto flower, but its frazzling my brain trying to reduce it down.

I know you have to be quite delicate with autos.

I'm using Canna coco 70% perlite 30%

Products I've got - Canna rhizo, Canna A&B, Canna PK13/14, Canna Boost, Canna Calmag, Liquid seaweed (Believe its good for the roots and Budda Tree Silica (recommended by Macky).

Seedling Stage -

Veg Stage -

Flowering Stage -

Hope someone can help.

Many Thanks 😀

In coco I just start at 1/4 the recommended rate and use the EC in and out method to find what the plant wants/needs. Mix 1/4 recommended rate and take the EC reading. Measure the runoff and raise/lower the feed as needed based on the runoff numbers.

@sub8 pandemic has hit lots of people and families hard. Start with 1/4 and if you see deficiency increase just a little at a time. It’s like walking through a room in the dark, if you go slow and are careful you do just fine. Post pics if you have issues and we will try to help.

Hey everyone, finally got my head round my EC.
I’ve just watered with a very light mix of silica, rhizo, cal mag and canna a&b. Before watering my ph was 5.7 and EC was 0.7.

just tested the run off and ph 6.5 and ec was 0.2.

im 13 days post germ. Auto.

what steps do I need to take to get medium to appropriate ec and ph.
cheers

@sub8 The output EC is the important number here. It sounds like you have a decent starting EC for the stage of growth and slowly you will get the exact feed strength your wants by comparing the input and output number. My method is to compare input and output EC. The output EC should be within .200 of the input plus or minus, personally I prefer the minus but that’s just me. So if your starting at .700 you want the output to be between 0.500 and 0.900 . If the EC is above 0.900 reduce the input by 0.200 Also, if the EC is below 0.500 increase the EC by 0.200. One thing thing to be aware of is plants can and do compensate for EC so don’t chase these numbers too hard. I give the plant a few days on a particular feed level and if she stabilizes we are good but if the EC is out of range for a few days I’ll make the adjustment and see how she does. One thing NOT to do is to change the feed every day chasing a valve. Your plants will need a little time to make adjustments. After a while you will learn your nutes and your water and you will know approximately what feed level you should aim for by experience and can make adjustments faster/easier but this comes with experience. As far as the output ph, I don’t monitor that in coco unless I’m seeing a problem somewhere. Was told by a different (expert) grower on a different forum not to worry about ph. So far it’s been good advice. Others may have a different opinion and there’s more than one way to grow but this is my technique.

Excellent answer monkey very comprehensive and easy to understand advice I do check my pH run off and if it is low when I ph next time I ph higher eg 6.5 to keep it from going to low we all do things slightly differently but hopefully get there in the end
