@monkeydo hey, my ec is 0.4 before adding nutes, once adding nutes and supplements it brings the ec up to 0.7 so that is a 0.3 difference.
so going in it was 0.7 and out it was 0.2 which is 0.5 deferential.
I was thinking of doubling my nutes on the next feed, so theoretically it should be a lot closer to the desired amount. Is this right, I do realise that it won’t be bang on.
cheers
The background EC is a little high. My rule is if is more than .300 you should absorb the extra EC into your calculation because that’s going to have an affect on how the roots feed. For your situation add the extra .100 into your calculations
Background is 0.4, 0.1 above limit so add that .1 to the .3 of the nutes and your adjusted input is .4
Input at .4, output at .2. Your water has some things that the plants like, such as calcium and they are using some of it as well as the canna nutes, that’s real good. You can boost a little next feeding but go slow until you know they are ready for it. Pictures always tell us a lot but from the description that’s how I do the math. Any other hydro growers what to post their balance techniques. I know there are many other ways to do this. Lots out here have more years at this than me, I probably keep my numbers lower than some.

@monkeydo originally flushed medium 0.5ml of each rhizo canna a & b a day before popping. For the first 12 days just 5.8 ph’d water didn’t have an ec tester till a few days ago.
the only reason I put the ec to 0.4 was because canna cal mag bottle advised to do it. But if u recommend bring my ec down to 0.3 I will take that advice.
Day 13 post germ. I personally thought they looked a little yellow/green but it’s still very early days.
The math puts you at the lower end of my formula so you can bump it to .5 and see what she does but they look just fine. Just monitor the output and remember to always give them time to adjust. Your plan isn’t unreasonable at all, as long as you know what to check and how to adjust and you will dial in in no time. My setup is also very different so don’t be afraid to do things your way if you feel it’s for the best. Better to develop a style that works best for you. I run an auto feeder 4 times daily (only in flower) in coco so I can get away with lower EC, feed gets refreshed in my coco very frequently so they won’t starve but low EC means they have an easy time eating. If your plants look good and your numbers are within good ranges your grow will go well.

@monkeydo thanks for the info. I’m sure I will be back with more questions! 😂
this site is amazing full of info and help throughout. Great work!
👍
thanks
@monkeydo hey, told you I would be back with questions. 😂
so it’s 2 days after water (feed mentioned in earlier post)
What do you think?
I think it’s going quite yellow/green
it looks like a little browning on edge of leaf near my finger.
any ideas would be helpful! 👍
In coco you should water some every day since coco has nothing to offer your plants. Coco is somewhat unique in that it's difficult to overwater it, excess just drains through. It can be tricky to get the feel for watering/feed early on because you definitely don't want to overwater seedlings early because that limits root growth. I've made that mistake too. She is lighter in the middle where most of the growth happens so that's good. Although you want to see explosive growth what you need is to develop is a fantastic root system before that will happen. Your water quality is going to limit your grow some because of the high background EC, most people agree that .300 background is the max they recommend but you cannot control your tap water quality. With high background the plants work harder to drink and grow slower. This is exactly why I choose to run rainwater, extremely low EC, plants evolved to use it, and its free. Unfortunately I've learned that this isn't an option for everyone but if you can collect rainwater, consider trying it.
If you think your plant is hungry you can bump the feed a little but feeding every day with at least 10-20% runoff and watering around the seedling and not on the seedling base will force your plants to search for water stimulating root growth and that's what you are looking for right now. Just remember that seedlings cannot handle very high EC inputs so step lightly. Cant really make out the browning on the leaf that you mentioned as the picture is a bit blurry. Could be salts buildup or wind burn... among several others

@monkeydo absolutely sound advice again. My tap water is 0.00 ec (that’s going off a new essentials ec meter and calibration fluid). I bumped up my ec with cal mag to 0.4 as advised on canna bottle.
but come to realise from yourself that 0.3 should be the reading I’m after.
I didn’t realise you could water everyday with 10-20% runoff, but as you said tread carefully in the early stage.
cheers
