@mackyWell this is it man. Hence, the wee production chart.

As for it taking a lot of time to mix stuff. Twenty minutes and I could have five bags mixed up for less than two bags of this stuff. Plus I'd have plenty of perlite and other amendments left over to make many more. Then chuck it in a storage bin for when it's needed. But I totally get the come in from work open a bag of this pot shit up and done outlook.

I'm a commission painter of miniature figures. Mostly historical 28mm & 15mm ancients, medieval, English civil war, Napoleonic and WW2 kinda thing. I'm pretty decent at it and had my stuff published in a set of wargaming rules for the thirty years war. People pay me to paint their stuff because they either don't have the time or ability to do it themselves.

Like you say it's all relative to the individual, and how they value their time v throwing extra cash at something. I have never had any bother with the Barneys Farm blue cheese I grew in the past. They all produced good vigorous plants. And the soil whilst not my scene is still decent from what I can tell. So you should be in for some nice smoke  down the line. 👍

May be a while before I grow their blue cheese again mind. Great plants/smoke off them. But I did have the old lad next-door asking me if I was getting the smell of old socks and stewed turnips in my house lol. Like I think you said on the podcast, those things are filter killers.

How is this grow going macky

This shit better turn out good to be worth the effort, thats all im saying lmao

Plants are not happy unless they are watered every day. Which is like coco...... have to ph my water, and add neutraliser, so may as well mix a salt feed up any way lol.

Plants dont look to happy, and suffering with some issues, but they aint doing too shit, just not used to seeing ill plants in my tent. Scrogs filling fast and things are doing ok though. I think most of the problem should be put down to my error. The pots are too small i think, 20l isnt enough. Watering technique is something im getting used, to but getting there.

I have four more in some sohum, 25l pots, and they are doing so much better than the first batch so i think it is more down to my inexperience rather than the medium.

I will keep going with it, see how the end results come. But I need to be massively impressed with the flavour at the end. The weed i grow in coco is tasty as fuck, and dont really see how it could get much better. If this organic shit does that, ill stick with it.

But if not, i will be going back to coco. If i have to prepare water like this every day, I might as well just stick to what i know. The only difference really i find is i don't have to collect run off. And my collection of run off was made pretty easy any way.

50/50 so far, I am not convinced yet, but we have a long way to go before I can make a final decision.

Ill get a video up tomorrow, I just wanted the screen to fill about a bit before putting another one up.

You saw the scrog video right?

You are treating it like coco...I have 2 25ltr containers...I fill with water and leave for 24hrs...all through the Sohum grows (so far 4 plants) I just filled 2ltr jugs and gave it to them as is...2ltrs to start with, then 3, then 4...No Ph'ing and I had mine in 21.25ltrs of it...our water shouldnt be that far off each others too

No issues really apart from a few yellowing leaves but they were shaded anyway

No mate I haven't seen the scog video I'm subbed so I should have can you put a link up so I can find it as you know I can't find anything without luck I'm hoping that your guide on using the forum can help with that when it's done. Does having bigger pots affect the humidity during lights off. I was thinking of doing another soil grow after seeing this thread originally but it does not seem any easier than coco. I grew in soil for a long time but it's hard work knowing exactly whats in the medium that's why I like coco it's easy just read your runoff thanks for answering mate good luck with the rest of your grow

@macky, Am I sensing a little tension in the old grow tent? Maybe you need a little help from your friends? Twisted1 has worms and worms can cheer up anybody!

You just need a few worms in your life/grow, they'll turn that frown upside down. :d

Very interesting to see how people are getting on with this product..,!

I’ve a bag of sohum which I’ve put a clone that was not doing well.. it has turned it around and is now a bushy healthy plant, if a bit on the dark green side so defo taking up a lotta nutrient especially N..  It’s in 20L pot, gets watered every other day. Any pH from 6.2 - 7 I’ve tried and all ok (obs better to keep consistent as possible but this is a test run so wanna know limitations too)

Also not used to pot being half weight or less than my normal pot weight!

The amount of perlite does mean there is so much less actual soil in the pot so as recommended the bigger pot the better to a point.. especially if it’s a longer flowering plant!
good luck with it @Macky hope they come though for you ! 👊

Time to pop some more beans 😗

Here is last weekd video:

They aint doing bad, I was just hoping i dont have to water them so much lol. My plan is to use the soil when the grow is done, and mix it with some of my own home made compost, and add some worms too Smile

Ill make a vid in the next couple of days so you can see Smile
