High All, I was recently listening to the HOHG podcast. Man the Worm Farming and Vermicomposting with Captian Matt episode was amazing. I am curious to see everyone's Worm bin set ups! Drop some pics. Thank you!
@terppopotamus I've got a worm bin I made. but pics. I'll get some and post them as soon as I can. Mine are red wigglers sand they get only vegetative kitchen scraps.

@im_sparky Appreciate it! I am going to do the same thing, I'm looking for different ideas and takes on home built worm boxes. I've kept worms before but only for fishing.
I guess I accidentally deleted part of a sentence in my last post before sharing it —oops. Here are some photos of mine, although it’s full so I can’t show you the bottom, but the inner container has holes drilled throughout with a piece of cardboard on top. There are also air holes around the top where the outer bin won’t cover them up so they get airflow.
The worms pull away from the light so its hard to get a good photo. The trick for success, I think, is to keep them fed and moist, but not too moist.

@im_sparky Looking into doing something like this for a extra worm bin . Just checking into seeing how it worked ?
I picked up this worm bin for $20 bucks at a garage sale the other day. I currently have a couple dozen nightcrawlers from the yard living in there until I take them fishing! 😅 I have future plans to start over with Redwigglers and Vermicompost. Thanks to HOHG crew and Captian Matt for the Inspiration!
@im_sparky Thanks for the reply I am just getting back to this. How often are you needing to add water to your bin?
I have had a setup similar to @sparky for about a year and it’s worked okay. I still haven’t found the perfect mix of feeding them and adding bedding and moisture. I’ve had some issues with mites and flies. I don’t think it’s affected the worms but it’s made it a challenge for maintenance.
I recently put together the bin/barrel below which I hope will operate as a continuous flow style bin. I have yet to start harvesting any castings from it but the worms seem to be happy so far.
