Hi all. Hope everyone is well.
I have decide to try my hand at another grow. Sadly my first grow diary did not go so well, I tried a gorilla grow which I got going quite well at first I think. But it was such a hot summer here I underestimated the reality of getting water to the spot. I did get a small amount of bud from it but it was so bad I just threw it away.
this time hopefully will be much easier as I am able to use garden space. I know it’s sooo late in the year but the opportunity just came about so I thought I would take it. I’m using nirvana Girl Scout cookies from seedsman.
I saw the seeds on their website and they were on a deal so I thought I would give them a go as I enjoy cookies. Got my seeds in the post but sadly a few got crush so I mentioned it to seedsman and literally with in 2 days I received an email saying they had sent some new ones. So 10/10 for customer service. Thank you seedsman.
I soaked the seeds in water for about 24hr I then used the paper towel technique but used cotton wool swabs instead of paper towel (all I had) to put the seeds in which seemed to work well. I got 8 out 10 to pop which I was happy with. Once they popped i put them in really small pot with some potting soil. They are about 2 weeks old now and look to be doing well. Please all advice is welcome especially on time scale. It will be possible to bring them in later In The year if needed to finish off.
thank you all

First, congrats on not giving up after your first experience went bad. Everyone has lost a grow, and it sucks. The important thing is to learn from it. From what you mentioned, it sounds like being unable to control the environment adequately (water, in this case), but you know that now and will likely never make that mistake again. Gorilla growing is tough. You are trying to look after them but not make it stand out.
I look forward to seeing the progress of your first controlled grow.
You got this mate good to see you having another crack out if can find lots of watering systems now days to make life easier
Looks like you’re off to a good start mate, seedlings are looking good.
bravo 👏 for climbing back on the bike after falling off.
im glad you started a diary, that’s the best way to get help when needed, so much information is imbedded in a diary, way more info and background than a “plant problem thread”. It’s hard sometimes to put your failures on the screen for people to see, but we’re all friends here at Percy’s and sharing you issues is the fastest way to learn. Others learn also.
good luck with this grow.
Week 3 and the girls are doing well I believe. They seem to be growing and look healthy to my untrained eye. One has been a little droopy so I propped her up will this be ok. She has definitely got a bit strong over the last few days. Wil she recover and is there anything else I can do or is time our friend for now. Please all help is welcome.
thank you all.
Hi all. Sorry for delay kids are back to school and now life is mental again.
Weeks 5 and the girls seem to be doing great. There not the biggest but they seem to have good colour and growing well. The weather has been quite wet the last few days so they are now under cover and will possibly move inside if it get to cold. Will a move into a shed be good enough or will the cold get to them still in there and should I put them In The house if I can get away with it. 🤞
the first photos are of the girls at 5weeks looking good. The second photos are of a few more I popped a couple of week later I have re-potted them in bigger pots now and are looking good. Had a slug eat one of the true leaves and I think it taken a big of life out of her she is a little yellow but still growing. I took a photo at the roots when I re-potted and I think they looked good and healthy. Please let me know if anyone has any advice to help me along my way.
I will put up week 6 later this week as I’m a week behind posting. Hopefully we can beat the cold. 🥶 thank you all for reading.
apologies for the bad photos my camera is broken and I have to zoom out.
These are the girls I planted a few weeks later they are looking good about 2/3 weeks old.
It looks like you're doing great. Just watch out for overwatering, which can deprive the roots of oxygen and cause them to drown.
Hey all. Hope everyone is well. We’re at week 6 now. The girls still seem to be doing fine keeping them in the shed as the wind has really been blowing. Still getting lots of sun and they seem to be growing well. I have kept them in small pots as I didn’t want anything too big I would struggle to hide. As they are in supper soil will these girls run out of nutrients before they are finished and will I need to feed them extra if the nutrients run out in the soil.
These girls are at week 3 now they are a little behind the others but still look good. They are in the shed as well I pretty much live in a wind tunnel. Now I have put two of these in big pot as I ran out of pots. so we will see the difference between how they turn out depending on which pot they are in. As always tips and tricks welcome thank you all
Greetings all. Week 7. Bit of a shit one this one. Thought we were going well until the girls started to look a bit spotty and noticed a few holes. Took a few photos and posted a thread and maky got back saying defo thrips. So just brought some neem oil and Castile soap, 2 of the girls are in very early flower so I’m hoping I can get away with it on them without to much go on the flower. I will use this every other day, I will also allow the top of the soil to dry out as well.
thanks all. 👊
Hello everyone. At the end of week 8 now managed to deal with those thrips. @monkeydo put me onto the coffee method which worked a treat. Thank you mate. Didn’t use the neem oil in the end.
not a lot happening girls are well in to flower I thought they would be producing a bit more flower by now. Is there anything I can give them to help, some sort of boost. The temp is definitely low and I believe this is not helping one bit.
thank you
They are on week 9 now
At 9 weeks all autoflowers should be in bloom. You might be dealing with a photo period plant and that will probably never flower in a window. You can try light deprivation to see if it will flip
