Purple Larry strain 4th week of veg. Look strong and healthy. Im going to veg for 2 more weeks before flower. I have topped once. Should I top again before flower? This is my first indoor grow 48x48 visosun tent kit 5gal pots, foxfire ocean forest 650 watt visosun and a viso 1000.
Topping once is always enough IMO mate, just train them from there and they will be fine

With Macky on this one, too much topping confuses the plant and stunts growth...I topped a White Widow 4 times as a test...ended up with spindly stems and about 8 1/4 size colas (which I even had to yoyo as they weren't capable of holding up the mini buds) instead of 4 full size ones
@macky ok. Training is something I haven't tried yet! I have seen some videos on training.

Often I top a few shoots down and you get 2-8 tops by topping the plant once.
Use some wire to pull the shots down to open up the canopy (this can double your harvest).

Things like Low Stress Training are very easy and you can easily get more out of the plant.
Plants are like children - always surprising you.

@zn happened to me with a tomato plant too. took it too far and she turned into some really wierd lady

@jhpoppi welcome to Percy's mate. I agree with the previous comments. If this is your 2nd grow in 40 years, I'd say get the hang of it first. You can always experiment later with new grows

So I decided to try training 2 out of 3 of my purple Larry's. Im happy with the results so far. The bottom 2 went from 4 colas to 8 possibly 10 only the 2nd day . Great advice thanks
