GROW-SPACE:
This is the first grow for me. I'm growing in a converted 2-foot x 2-foot closet. I wired an outlet, vented the space to the attic with a variable speed DC fan, put emergency blankets on the wall, and hung a broad spectrum 95 watt LED for a 2x2 space.
POTTING:
I am using 2 5-gallon buckets with a newb recipe of super soil of sorts. I made my own biochar and charged with worm castings for about 2 1/2 weeks. I used 1/3 of the biochar, apx 1/4 crushed pumice, and the rest is Fox Farm Ocean Forest with a about 2 dozen crushed eggshells and apx 1C sand mixed in. Each bucket can drain into a 14" saucer and each saucer is on an inexpensive plant stand with wheels to gain access the the pots when needed.
WATER:
I am using de-chlorinated and filtered tap water and an original, large Blumat carrot in each pot fed by a 6-gallon reservoir jug at the same height.
PLANTS:
I had trouble getting my first two seed to Euphoria seeds to germinate using the soak and paper towel method in that the seeds didn't pop. in my second attempt, I planted one Euphoria seed and one Critical Cure seed in coir inside a small coir seedling pots, then placed 1 quart mason jars over each pot as a humidity dome on 12 removed link On 12/4, the Critical Cure seed has sprouted, but no sign yet of my last Euphoria seed (fingers crossed). With the Critical Cure seedling sprouted and up about an inch, I removed the humidity dome, have air circulating on low, and am lightly watering-in a tiny amount of soil into the top of the coir to give it some nutrients.
AIR:
Through germination and into the first sprouting, I am keeping about 76F and 60%RH.
Not gonna lie -- will be disappointed in my last of the three Euphoria seeds does not germinate.
If a seed doesn't sprout right away I wouldn't throw it away, In my first grow a seed didn't work... I couldn't be bothered to walk to to bin to dump it so I flung the seed in the pot of soil with the seed that did sprout.
A few weeks into veg I saw what looked like a thick blade of grass growing in the pot so I pulled it out.... and just about the same time as I pulled it from the soil I remembered I threw the other seed in the pot, and thats what it was... It was the other seed starting to grow but it was too late by then because I just broke it. So If I get any more that dont work right away im going to keep it in a small pot of soil for a few weeks just incase.
Good luck mate 🙂
Thanks for that feedback -- I will be sure to wait a good while before tossing expensive seeds if I ever run into problems with germination.
DAY 10: I’m playing catch-up on posting. At this point the Critical Cure in coir with a tiny bit of soil is doing great, but my third Euphoria seed is not. This is the third of the packet to not make it. C’est la vie.
DAY 12: I’ve abandoned the Euphoria and am instead germinating a second Critical cure. It is under the mason jar as a humidity dome. Hopefully 12 days difference in age won’t matter much when it comes to flipping to flower.
DAY 18: looks as I have waited too long to get the first Critical Cure seedling into soil in that it has had very little nutrition (coir with a tiny top-dressing of soil) and the lowest true leaves are yellowing. No pics — I hurried to get her planted.
Crossing my fingers for she will fight back strong 💪🏽
DAY 20: The second Critical Cure seedling is only 8 days old and its roots are breaking through the coir pot. I really went too long with getting the first seedling planted. Live and learn. Time to get this one planted in soil before she goes hungry.
DAY 23 (DAY 11 for the wee one) both seedlings are in soil, and although the elder seedling is bouncing back, she is not looking great with her lowest true leaves dying, and a deformed upper leaf. I assume this is from the earlier lab just of nutrients due to my delay. Am I right?
The wee one is looking much better than the elder one.
I gave both pots (20 liter/5 gallons) a light sprinkling of Epsom salts and watered it in, just in case.
Here is the elder seedling with some leaf issues (still learning how to use the forum with my mobile).
Here is the wee on looking much better than the elder girl.
I've seen that twisting happen with root damage from fungus gnat larvae. Not saying that is what it is, just something to think about if you are also seeing gnats.
Keep at it! You got this 👍
Hi guys. I actually grew Critical Cure last year. Barney's Farm. It was fairly tall, going right past my old HPS lights. The buds were finger sized and long. The wife loves the pain relief. She said she had a 70% decrease in pain. This strain is a serious medicine.
Although a Mighty+ is out of my price range this year, an Inkbird is not! This tech should help keep my tiny grow space in line, and the girls happy. Of course, the display is not showing properly in the pic due to the camera’s fast shutter speed with the grow lights on.
2 of my tents have the inkbirds in them a great addition for sure
