I use airstones in my nutrient-reservoir.
However they don't survive to long, they sometimes break, and often gets clogged up with nasty stuff.
I was thinking about making some easy-clean robust alternative to an airstone.
Anyone made anything like that or have any ideas about making one?
Thinking about just using a section of drainpipe with lots of drilled holes in it. One that I could disasseble easily for cleaning. Any thought are welcome. 🙂

I use 50mm airstones in my Dwc I usually get 10 for 10 quid of ebay and throw them away after I have done a crop, there is something I've used similar to what your thinking about using called Bubble Tubing it's like an air stone but it's a tube, your idea will work but to get the fine air bubbles that usually come from an air Stone you will have to have super tiny holes in your pipe, it's all trial and error mate, give it a try 👍👍
Something like this. You blow air out rather than sucking petrol in. They have a very fine nylon screen which I thought might provide a stream of small bubbles. Maybe 🤣

@toploader aha, I see, I was thinking of another type of fuel-filter 😄
Perhaps.. it could work, but it would probably not be better than just getting an airstone?, I would think anyways without knowing 😁
Need to experiment with pipes I think 🤔

Not tried it, but I wonder if one of those plastic fuel filters would work, the type that are in the fuel tank of petrol garden equipment. Just a thought.

@toploader hmm 🙂, not sure I understand. You mean like, removing the filter and plug the outlet, and drill some holes in it? I suppose it might work.. if you can open it up and remove the filter that is.
