What is it you folks use to keep a eye on your humidity. Do you use the £2.90-£5 ones as above or do you use slightly more expensive ones.
if it works for you guys it will work for me if I have a idea what you use.
I’ve seen ones that stand in the tent that go upto £30 however they all look the same to me.
if I had a idea what others do I can work from there without annoying you all with these questions about humility meters.

I have a couple of meters a bit like the first one there in that pic but then I bought a Wireless Hygrometer off amazon that has 3 senders and a main hub/screen. It's one of the best things iv bought yet, it makes things so much easier.
I have the Hub/screen sitting next to my couch and the sender units are in 3 different tents and they tell me the temp and RH just by looking at the screen, so now I know the temp and RH in my tents even when the lights are out.
I see one for £35 on amazon but I dont think my one cost that much, I'll see if I can find the exact one I bought if it's still on there and let you know.

@stootie I need to invest in one of these. I'm admittedly lazy when it comes to maintaining ideal humidity and it would be good to see the overall trend rather than just a min and max. All well and good knowing it peaked at say 70% but it would be good to know how long it was at that percentage and how long for/what time of day.

This is the one I got, you get 3 senders with it, the white thing on the left. You can keep your arse on the couch and still know how hot and wet the ladys are.lol
This one isn't on amazon anymore but there's ones more or less the same for about £30-£35
My favorite monitor is on the AC Infinity controller. It tells me absolutely everything I need to know without opening the tent but that’s only an option if you’re upgrading equipment. On other tents I use these regular cheapo ones
Can’t say that I trust it 100% but I’ve grown lots of plants with them so they work OK.

I use 50e valued free subscriber gift from magazine order trial. Seems to work mostly. Sometimes it tilts and needs restart. I bought 3 small cheap digis for like 2e/pcs and they all showed different numbers 😂
Hey, my main Man @mix, well buddy I'll tell you what I finally found that works for me. Now first let me say that I have used just about ever device that's out there that reads humidity and each one of the Mfuckers all read different. I have the clock humidity the button one and then I have the Inkbird controllers, that is what I use now religiously. The reason being is that I use them to control my humidifier/dehumidifier and have to count on their accuracy so right or wrong they may just set the bar for all humidity. Then I got my second Inkbird IHC 200 and it reads the exact same as the first, so for the first time I have two meters reading the same, I think I heard an Angel sing. lol So I use those two and their reads are WORD!, man. lol
So all those little button fucking thingys, I have a ton of those from my jars and those are all goofy as shit so I found out how to test them. I put them in a sealed plastic bag with a bottle cap of salt that has a few DROPS of water, just enough to moisten the salt and get it wet. Seal them up for 24hrs and afterwards they should read 75% humidity, if they're correct. So then I take the correct one(s) and compare them to the Inkbird's controls, and the Inkbirds were spot on!! So it's taken me awhile to buy all this bullshit and get confused by it all and then figure out what is really right and what's not. I have 20 of those little button pieces of shit that I'm throwing out today, those were the worst investment.
This is what I do and it works for me, I hope it helps you and you get the same results. 👍

you do make me laugh 😂
on a serious note I do think a sticky should be made about it as i for one had never heard of it & testing all these meters 8 in all I see some are way out.
i honestly don’t think everyone knows about it & how much some can be out. The only thing I would add make sure you do it where you don’t have temp fluctuations or it’s pointless according to some professor & would add a sealed see though. Tupperware box works. Still that’s upto macky
I have the ac infinity controller monkey mentioned, i also use the Aqara wireless sensors, $19 (usd) each, free app for smartphone and tablets. They are about 1.5” square, battery is supposed to last 1-2 years.
ac infinity readings for comparison-
You do need a $50 hub (Wi-Fi bridge aquara sells). Nice option if you have a shit load of sensors, I have about 1/2 dozen through my grow areas.

@sevans1965 cool I will have to look into getting a smart phone as atm I don’t own any phone 😱 they do seem to be useful like being able to add usb macro shots.

@sevans1965 I chat here on a iPod in case you wonder why I don’t use a comp for usb shots ect
My Pulse monitors work over my cable modem.

@artmann I have one pulse monitor also (in my 4x4).
their spec. is +\- 3% RH also! And like any measuring device it will drift.
it is recommended to calibrate hydrometers every 2-3 years if used at ambient temperatures, annually if used above or below ambient. I believe that is because the thermometer component of the sensor has to be calibrated for temp.
So who has a calibration standard they can ship Amongst Percy members ? LOL
I use 3 separate probes, one connected to the fans that sits at canopy level, one at floor level that's wireless and one slightly higher than canopy level at the opposite side of the tent that is also wireless. That way I can get a full view of what the tent is doing. The wireless ones are inkbird sensors and connect to your phone, they will log temps and send alerts if you get too far out of set values.
I feel like a, like a slice of butter... melting on top of a big-ol' pile of flapjacks... yeah.
Well I can close this now.
The smartco one I got reads %75 it cost £30
the cheep ones way out.
kinda like a blu lab pen compared to the cheep ph pens I had problems with. Lesson get nailed into my head buy cheep buy twice
I knew it about lights ect why didn’t I figure with humidity meters .
i challenge you to test yours I think it’s worth the time
