@jacks_farm, Hey Howdy, hope all is well. Thanks for the reply.
Good thanks @woodi2
Yes the canopy flattened nicely and the two outsides caught up with the middle and by the finish line I'm sure it will all look like one.
I keep looking at the canopy as far as the thickness of leaves and the height that things were getting and instinct is telling me, it's time. So slow and steady. I'll do that first (defoliate) and then see what's what.
Often slow and steady is the best way, it's a good learning curve.
I'm concerned that the screen might be too full but I'll just get in and see. I'm thinking I may have to tie and pull things around for air circulation and keep em separated. I haven't met Mr Bud Root yet, but I think this is going to be close. Lot's of moving air.
I wouldn't worry about Mr Bud Rot, if you remove enough fans leaves and you keep the humidity under 60 and have good size oscillating fan. With the amount of shoots you have, your unlikely to grow 10" long 3" thick cola's and bud rot only attacks the largest cola's in late flower.
Back to the less is best thingy, I thought I was working gingerly with these ladies and was under on the feeding scale. I kept having problem, went back to square one, hit reset, (you can kinda do that with hydro) and they're happy as clams at a whooping 1.12 EC. And they look happy! So I'm looking and listening and it's working, half ass.
Often less is more when you feed your plants.
Not a hydro grower anymore but used to keep my EC 1 - 1.5 in flower.

Works good for me too in most phenos

Welcome back to the final installment of SCROG 101 and You.
Today we find our beloved hero at his very short wits end. The Glueberry auto's from Dutch Passion should be finished by now at day 95 total, but our hero would like a couple more days. Unfortunately the evil forces of the universe are against our beloved grower and will not grant him his wishes. Dratz! So seating himself high in the saddle he pushes on.......
95 days ago/ DP says 84 days
today - Babelicious #1- a blond baby with little to no red hairs. All white.
Babelicious #2- Orange haired beauty with lots of subtle colors.
Babelicious #3- A uniquely different and exotic looking problem plagued participant.
The screen is ridge wire and each plant has 34"x36"- 86x91cm screened opening.
The scrog was good in the way of keeping a 60"-150cm plant to 32"-81cm in height. Controlling the stretch was the main issue.
I think IMO there was a bit of stress involved with the ridge screen and the Auto's. These were suppose to be very large (XXL) and trying to restrain that much grow in a very fast growing auto I think had some affect on them. I'm thinking I will have to try Photo's and give them time to adjust more. The auto's just don't have the time to be manipulated too severely with out compromising bud size/yield. I'm very happy with this yield, don't get me wrong I just feel it would have been better with less stress. But hey that's why I did this, to find out. You won't know what's under the dress unless you peak.
So everything got a little crowded and defoliating was a must above the screen as much as it was below the screen. Air movement is KEY. I removed 8lbs-3.6 kg of wet leaves from underneath and I don't know how much from above yet.
There was a problem with root rot in the beginning that caused about a weeks delay, and #1 and #2 pulled out ok, but #3 just kept having issues. And I believe the problem still exist with #3. So one problem can screw things up for a while/ or maybe it's just a fucked up plant. Lastly, How much can one plant affect the others in a RDWC system? This is my challenging question, I'll let you know the answer when I find it.
After the affliction, I tried feeding a usual, only to find out that these babes didn't need much food at all. The highest EC reached was just 1.2 EC and that wasn't for very long. They were very happy at 0.93 EC. Another learning curve in the road. I ended up adopting the Lucas formula which is General Hydroponic Trio but only using the Micro and the Bloom in a 1 to 2 ratio. It's like chicken soup when your ill. That and just Hydroguard, no silica or cal/mag even thou I'm using RO water. After thought, I should have been adding a small amount of Cal/mag, but the Micro has it, but not enough for RO. Had to try, had to see for myself. So these ladies have been brought to this point on just Micro and Bloom, no snake oil, no EC 10,000, nothing special at all. I did use a good luck charm. 😉 some real high tech shit from a buddy.
So this is a problem with RDWC and a Scrog, they are double locked in! So if your playing with seeds and even thou their all the same and from the best breeder and cost the most $$$ out of anything else, it's still Pot Luck. As soon as you crack those seeds they are now different from before, and will be individually all yours. As I've said before, you will learn so much from having to deal with the individual seeds and their problems. So then you say you want to grow a couple of different strains in RDWC, go for it my friend, live and learn it's the only way.
So I was suppose to give a shout out to all of yous individually, but here's one big Thanks Everyone for all the help. I know there's only a few water babies here at Percy's but I appreciate everyone's help and support.
Not too bad for Cedars.. - break things and then fix them.. chew with your mouth closed so you don't drop powered sugar..
And always have a Plan B.
@woodi2 Hahaha I nearly pissed myself when I saw that picture
That 2nd last picture, that'll be a plant at each side... but the big green hill in the middle is that just one plant? looks massive, is that the same plant that split on you a few weeks ago.

If you can't say it with flowers Then don't say anything
Hey @toploader yes it was. And I apologize for hi-jacking this thread that you started, but I was young and dumb and didn't know my way around a web site. So basically nothings changed. Don't hate me forever. 🤣
Man if I understand, it's 3 plants...... So nice
@stootie, yeah that's the same one. It's the one in the middle and there is a plant on each side. The door is right in the middle so it's impossible to get all three in one shot. But they all have the same amount of space, she's just a show off. lol
So you liked my Good Luck Charm!!! ha Glad you did, like I said, I was trying to mention everyone nonchalantly but it was getting too long. You have to laugh, a little or a lot just do it!! 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 PEACE
Can’t believe I’d missed most of this thread before!
some epic looking plants here guys! Especially @Woodl2
Time to pop some more beans 😗
@chillbert, yeah it's hard to stay on top of all the threads here at Percy's. I to need to look over the fence at other growers to, yours included! lol I'm very interested.
This is where the Raw nutrients would be handy for me with the RDWC system. Like what we spoke about last week, being able to custom mix nutrients solutions for different situations.
The RDWC offers such explosive growth that if your on target, man, hang on. But being able to adjust the solution and see nearly immediate responses is very rewarding.
And this grow, using just Micro and Bloom, (beyond simple), and at a very low EC but getting expectable results, reinforces the fact that I'm not in control of this plant. This plant is training me to feed them the way they wants me to.
I'll wander to the dark, dirty, dirt side some day and when I do I'll give ya holler! Hope your new glasses are getting dialed in! HA I was just foolin around on a sunny Sunday morn. cheers Peace 😊
@woodi2 nice one bro
Getting nutrients dialed in is where I’m at with the soil mixing lol
im understanding more all the time but keep finding whole new depths and levels which need diving to lmao
just as well it’s never-ending or tbh I’d be pretty gutted ! What on earth would I do with myself !?? 😂
would love to give dwc a spin sometime ... I can imagine the growth rates would be disturbing !!(in a good way lol)
Just starting to play with the raw stuff, except using the humic acid regularly atm
im finding diff strains do great in one soil mix, others don’t..
a one size fits all won’t allow the best some strains have to offer imo
It’s all good fun messing about with it and I feel I am getting somewhere... not always where I thought i was going but always somewhere
peace bro and happy growing
Time to pop some more beans 😗
