@fital no haven’t lost one yet thankfully
you will find with the extra heat and dry air coming from your lights/tent your shed will dry out quite abit.
Get it patched up the best you can and try not to worry if you can control the condition inside the tent the outside shouldn’t effect you too much. If you can get your intake fan as close to outside the better.
Ain’t we all chasing the light mate. Looking everywhere to find it. Everywhere but within- Sassy the Sasquatch
that’s the way forward and T said it will work great👍 Good luckis it possible to seal up some of the places where moisture is entering the shed? then run some fans to dry it out.
i used to work on cars in an old wooden shed and the increased air flow in the shed helped keep it dry.
as far as pest i cover my intake ducts with womens nylon stockings to help keep them out. and use organic insecticides in the area around my grow as well as inside the tents.
if you really want to or need to use this area to grow i would think its possible with a lil effort.
I’m in the same boat myself. Just putting the finishing touches to my 3rd grow space. After growing in small stealth cabinets for last 3 years, I bit the bullet & bought a 3x3. I had intended to build a room inside my shed & went to B&Q to get the materials. I ended walking out with a 6x4 plastic garden shed that was on sale. So I know have a 3x3 tent inside a 6x4 plastic shed inside an uninsulated stone shed. I’m thinking of sealing up the plastic shed & dehumidifying that as a lung room & adding a mushroom bag. I’ve no probs with temps but am hitting 80% humidity with lights off. It’s a bitch trying to grow with outside humidity running at 90% I’ve never lost a crop over it but I’ve never been able to get ideal conditions in my previous builds. Will see how this works out for me. 1 month till harvest & no probs yet. Open to any suggestions if anyone has a similar setup?
@halfbaked_ie you’ve had no mold or rot issues at all or never lost a FULL harvest?
What do you put your success down to? High ventilation?
@fital none so far touch wood. I’m not sure what I’d put it down to but if I’d to guess, because I’ve always run my lights pretty close to the canopy & multiple fans. This is my 1st run in the bigger tent so hoping I don’t have issues.
So, I’ve taken on board the suggestion of having a second room - so it’s now a 2x4 inside a 4x8 now. Pretty happy so far - it’s basically wooden frame lined with foil bubble wrap type stuff.
Still no big lighting to raise the temperature properly, but results are promising…
It’s also pretty stealthy 🥷🏻 believe it or not. Would happily have someone in the shed for 5 mins - as long as I was there for a conversation to cover the hum of the fans.
