Anyone tried any natural farming techniques?
(as made widely known by Chris Trump who learned the natural way fromKorean farmers and applied this to his family’s farm in Hawaii with great success)
Videos are all on utube. Along with others who’ve used these ways of feeding or super-charging their soils health.
It seems like a big ‘rabbit hole’ but I’ve started chipping away at it.
Ive stated with a simple one: FFJ or Fermented fruit juice
in this case fermented banana juice as it’s specifically for making plant available K (potassium as required in large amounts late flower) using bananas and brown sugar.
Equal weight chipped bananas (inc skins) and brown sugar.
Mix well and ferment 7 days then strain.
Application is 1 tablespoon per gallon.
5 bananas and 500g brown sugar
(cost £1:50 or $2)
I used it this eve and will update progress (or not lol) ...
Will be looking at making other elements of natural farming soon.

its one i'm wanting to explore too, its all organic gardening and using what you have available to you and feeding the soil microbes. I'm not sure how much potassium can be got from this method but the sugars will defo help in flower. i'll be keen to know if you see any difference or not, keep us posted

I’ve not use this method but I’ve seen several new growers come here to Percy’s with problems after applying banana tea to their plants (probably over applying). Obviously you’re not a new grower Chillbert and you are going to be careful but this isn’t really a technique for new growers with no experience. On the other side of it it will be very interesting to see someone with a bit of knowledge try to use this technique and see what happens. Tuned in and watching this experiment with a hope for a positive outcome.
Random acts of kindness make the world a better place
I made a juice out of fan leaves once, it seems like a great idea, just need to dial it in and according to some vids it's hard to over fertilize but I'd go light to start.
Love is all that matter, with it you can achieve anything.

Haha problems after banana tea!! now you tell me ! Lol lmao
I did do my due diligence and am aware of issues people have had..
the banana one doesn’t surprise because it’s the easiest (and quickest) to make (and it’s for chasing bigger buds lol)
So to start I’ve just tried it on one plant and will observe..
pretty sure I’ve not over applied as it’s fk all in 5 galls.. 🤞
as a syrup it smell way better than you’re average pk
be interesting to see if banana flavour will go into the bud lol ?
Soil can influence the flavours in wine and other crops...
what happens in producing small scale wine... the fruit tones in the wine come from other fruit grown in the vineyards eg peach / apple/ nectarine etc
will my weed taste like nanas??
Prob not but fun thought anyway

@chillbert, what the shelf life?
In the video I watched he said it was stable and can be kept in a jar on the shelf for months .. not sure exactly how many months ! ??
However if made in small batches this should be fine for small scale use
I made about 330ml which @18ml (1xtablespoon) per gallon that’s about 18 gallons worth so I won’t have problems using it up before too long if its use proves successful ! 👍

Haha! I have started down this rabbit hole after listening to spartan talk on the pod cast.
Have ordered some dry. Amendment and am going to cook me some bokashi super soil.
I'll post my recipe I come up with for some feed back when I work it out
pick it,pack it fire it up, hits from the Gong
Banana tea update...
have used for last couple of weeks with no noticeable issues... can’t say whether it will have had any effect on yield but might be able to assess flavour differences between a plant fed with it and one without of the same genetic (twin clones)..
anyway at the doses stated above I had no issues fyi
will report on the taste test in due course
