How long does it take the worms to produce that bin full mate ?

?? Varies I guess... they are quicker in warmer weather and bit slower in winter 

I have 3 tiers or layers each holds about 30L

1 tier full prob takes 1 to 3 months if using the right materials ..

I guess can make about 30-40L in same time it takes to grow a cannabis plant which is pretty handy 😉

Ready in time to chuck a litre or two in each pot for the next grow 😀

I’ve just this week built a worm bin outta 2 20 ltr buckets haha gonna put a post up this week at some point. Also made 2 Bokashi bins. What I’d do for a load of that worm poo now 😂👊

@chillbert How does that work. do you get a load of worms in soil and add the coffee, bananas etc and wait for them to turn it all into shit , then gather all the worms out and move them to a new mix and start again.

Iv got soil waiting for my first repotting, I found a mound of cow shit from last year, its half way between shit and turning back to earth, I stuck the shovel in it and its absolutely crawling with worms, I filled up a big bucket, then filled another big bucket of normal black looking soil and mixed it all together, I read somewhere that seaweed (kelp I think) is good for keeping PH level and things like that, I filled a bucket with different kinds of seaweed and washed all the salt off but I dont know anything about seaweed so iv not bothered adding any of it just incase none kelp seaweed isnt recommended.

I wasnt sure if the bucket of cow shit soil would be too rich on its own so thought the black soil would thin it down a bit.

Do you think something like that will be ok for my new girls when its repotting time  

@stootie mate you’ve got lots of excellent materials for making compost there for sure.. 
If you utube Charles Dowding compost he’ll explain it much better than I could lol

i would compost the seas weed with other materials for sure...

as long as it’s broken down and returned to a soil (that’s not hot!) it can be used for sure

separating worms from the compost is done using a technique called ‘migration’ which I am yet to perfect for sure lol

when the materials have ‘returned to earth’ and cooled they are good to go 

I would use it to enrich and inoculate your usual growing soil when reusing it or to ‘super charge’ an off the shelf compost

@chillbert woah Bro, excellent work! if you think about it, there is no waste in the planet. nature reuses everything at some point... yup even plastic will return to the earth with new bacteria adapting to eating it, even thou it might take a couple of centuries.

we are the only species that sees "things we can't use" as waste... food for thought 😉

Theres tons of seaweed and cow shit about 60sec walk away from here, would need to start pouring it into jiffy bags and selling it on ebay...be a cunt if they burst in the post tho
