Well, I have been putting off starting this due to the issues below... The original plan was to pop these as soon as they arrived, water, then seedling mix, then 1 gallons of build a soil placed on a bed to wick from and flipped to flower by the end of march as I have a timeline to keep and must end the grow by early June (due to a home inspection).
March 8th I received the seeds and immediately soaked 3 (of 5) in DI water. 8 hours later, seeds were planted in a mix of BuildaSoil 3.0 and Jiffy seedling mix at 1:2, hydrated with DIwater to field capacity. The top 1" of soil was only Seedling mix. Under 30W Led seedling light in incubator at 78F.
March 12th, there was no sign of seedlings emerging so I went for a dig and found mites were eating the seeds. look at these fuckers...

I have used this method with much success, and sprouted 8 seedlings with this method the week prior with everything the same and they are doing well. I know these bugs are an important part of a living soil, but 6 months ago I had an issue with pot worms eating young seedlings, which is why i normally use out of the bag soil instead of my pre loved and very active soil, mix it with an inert seedling mix (jiffy brand peat,coco, perlite mix), and have the top 1/3 only the inert mix.
I then soaked the 2 remaining seeds in DI water for 4 hours then went to unbleached coffee filter in a ziploc to sprout. both were cracked and one had a tail the next day. They were then planted into Jiffy pots hydrated with DI water and placed in small plastic container.
3 days later they emerged, sickly and weak, unable to break free of the seed shell. I carefully removed the seed shell, one had yellowish cotyledons. I was unable to locate any mites in media samples from around the seedlings, but inspection of the seed shell removed confirmed there was a mite inside.
This one looked like it might be ok since it was growing, but growth has stopped in the past 24 hours and the cotyledons are starting to twist. Since this is the only chance i have with this grow off, Im going to try to save it...
Ugh there all over the seed, it didn’t stand a chance. Good luck trying to save what’s left
Triage... 3% H2O2 diluted 1:4 with DI water, hopefully it will kill the mites without drowning the seedling. One would be nice, there is no hope for the other.

OOhhhh, MAN! So sorry to hear this! That is a serious drag -- never seen so many mites all over a seed like that. I've got my fingers crossed for your one living seedling.

Well, I have 2 survivors... It looks like the 1:4 dilution (of 3%) H2O2 was enough to take care of the mites... No sign of any roots on the sides of the pucks yet.
As I am not yet willing to transfer to soil, and the cotyledons were damaged reducing nutrient availability, Im contemplating using the product above. Any thoughts? My other option is a sprouted seed tea that should have been started days ago. I do have a sproted alfalfa seed tea ferment that is so far untested...
Im pretty sure i wont be going for yield with this grow. So I might have to make it fun.
@southsilly, I've used it but as an additive but if that's what you've got it's NPK ratio is low, the GH feed charts calls for 1ml per gal/4L throughout growth cycle, that full strength for hydro, that's all I got. Good luck
It was touch and go for a bit, but i have a survivor from the Bulb Mite Uprising of 2023... And then from the dropped pot episode the very next week.
Otherwise not very exciting, just up potted into a 0.5L for a week, then into a 3gal (folded on half, approx 6L) and placed onto AC infinity wick base. Soil is build a soil 3.0 with straw mulch. At this point i am still lightly watering from the top around the edge of the pot to encourage root expansion during bolt, as today is Day 1 of 12/12! Its small, but i have a schedule to keep, and an over vedged tent buddy.
I still hate that when I accidentally bump or drop a potted plant.
@philmebowls, you know, Im pretty smart, but I can be real dumb sometimes... "why dont I just balance this tray of seedlings on the edge of this pot that is sitting on top of another pot, why not let my dog in to help.. what could go wrong?" atleast it was only one this time, but last year I wiped out a dozen in one go.

@monkeydo only one remains, but she is strong for sure. I think Im just gonna let it go with no training since she is small, and reveg for fall clones if I like it.
I have had 2 events of seeds being eaten, last year it was pot worms... I like to learn the hard way sometimes. I wont be doing that again.

Woof... Fucked up my lighting today...
Day 6 of 12/12... This morning I realised I left an auxiliary light on inside the tent last night 2 hours into night time.
Probably be fine, I turned it off and set the timer to turn back on in 12 hours (From 7pm-7am to 9pm-9am). I'm considering switching back to the 7-7 schedule tonight, still undecided but I have some time to have a smoke about it.
I had to to instal an auxiliary cfl in the tent, as this Blackbird feels like its melting my flesh on the lowest setting, it was not plugged into the same timer but it is now.
Other than that, its also only been a week after transplant, and she is now drinking from AC's butt chug base.

Quick update, its day 22 of 12/12s..
Nothing but water for butt chugging with a tea once a week top watered.
The Techtonic Truffle in the scrog is looking hungry and received a nutrient tea of Sustain turkey shit (4-6-4) and top dressed.
