Morning update (night time for the girls though).
I chopped the two Spaced Out Shorty’s three days ago, it was late after a long day, I forgot to take some pics! They are in the “Herbs Now Dryer”, ready to jar in 40 hrs.
when I pulled out the SOS, it was unplanned but I put two Amy Ace’s clones in. It’ll be nice, I have clones from the same mum in Hydro, supersoil, and one under Mother Natures care a short dog walk from the house.
currently in the tent, in harvest order-
back right corner is Strawberry Lemonade, ready around 9/10’ish. (Sept. to my European brothers and sisters). Two in front on the right Berry Shorty, ready around 9/20’ish. The the big girl center back- Nakatomi Plaza ex-mum, ready about 20days after the berry Shorty’s, then the Amy Aces clones another 20 or later.

Amy Aces-
A couple of Strawberry Lemonade bud pics I didn’t upload with yesterday’s update!
Cherry Palms from the motherland- did some training and trimming last night in preparation for the 12 hr tent very soon.
I think I have “the look” and training technique dialed for my grow space.
I top down to 3rd or 4th node, then trim from bottom up leaving one node below the node I topped to. Then on the so main top nodes, leave four nodes to grow vertically after the bend.
these girls were a little woody, I spit the stems a bit but didn’t snap or break any!. This morning (b4 lights out, the bent stems are starting to bend toward the light, so I think they survived the torture.
I’ll put a couple of the trimmed stems in gel and cubes tonight, see if I can get a couple of bonus clones
Looks good. The training looks to be working well. Once you figure out how the plants react, you can sculpt them into all sorts of configuations. They are coming along great.
Maybe try rolling the stems more, before attempting to bend. The younger they are, the easier they bend, as you know. But, I smash mine and roll untill they crush, and the stem becomes limp. If I don't tie them down, then by the next morning they'll be right back up again. But I haven't had a stem, not make it. yet.
Good luck man, nice work.
Evening- few updates. Upgraded my IPM & decided to switch to bigger pots, the smaller pots I’m finding to be challenging with watering and premature nute deficiency, I really want to get further thru the grow before having to supplement the supersoil, plus I still want to be able to get 8 pots in this tent at times (if my timing is off a bit between bringing plants in and out every 2-3 weeks). Final pot size at the time they enter this tent will be 3 gal fabric pots.
Because of the perpetual nature of this grow, some girls are in flower, some are not, and with this being a soil grow I’m concerned about bugs etc. which recently struck, it was a matter of time I think! But my other concern is me cross contaminating my hydro grow. So decided to upgrade my IPM and installed Tarantula Predator under canopy UVC LED lights. For preventative maintenance, they come on for 5 mins every 24 hrs, half way thru your night cycle.
Signs of bugs on a few of the girls in the tent, I tried not to crowd the girls in the tent until I got the fixtures set up. Now it’s set up, I’ll be interested to see what happens next.
First treatment with the Predator- directions say 5 mins every 24 hrs, (turn on in the middle of lights out cycle). I installed them in my hydro also, but I’m not going to use them unless I see signs of bugs or PM. Since this is my first time with this tech- if there are detrimental results, it'll be isolated to the smaller tent. Only thing I wonder, if the light could cause a herm, I think I’d rather use it mins b4 lights on for the day!

Ingredients arriving for more supersoil.
TBC, I am in no way affiliated with Brut Worm Farm, but will share a good deal with my fellow US Percy’s. if it’s not convenient for you to have a worm farm or compost bin, then I do support and promote shopping from any reliable small business you stumble upon, support small business, cuz you’ll miss them when they close shop due to big box store competition!!
anyone will tell you, mixing or buying soil, we need consistency, I’ve always purchased my worm castings from Brut, and used coast of Maine compost. Realizing Brut sells a couple of flavours of certified organic compost, I’m switching to theirs for the foreseeable future, unless I have issues.
all three of theses bags was $35 (us) each, delivered. Free delivery anywhere in the US.
for comparison- a 6lb bag of organic worm castings from Home Depot= $12
30lb bag from Brut= $35
BTY, I ordered on Sunday, arrived Tuesday via UPS.
That's a bargain, nice one @sevans1965. Can you share your super soil recipe with us?
