Soil from the garden
I have a spot in my yard that cannabis plants do really well in. What are your thoughts on taking some of that soil, mixing it with some compost from the pile and perlite and using it indoors in a tent.
@desertmk I do something very similar minus the perlite. The soil in my area is a bit rocky and sandy so I get decent drainage so perlite it’s t necessary for me when using soil in my backyard. Lots of native microbes in your outdoor soil too. One issue you might run into is pest could be a lot of unwanted hitchhikers in there. There has been many times I’ve opened my tent and there’s four or five crane flys buzzing around.
Let The Good Times Roll
@desertmk you could add rice hulls instead of perlite, you get some IPM benefit as well as added silicate over time.

@desertmk completely fine dude. Sometimes I dry the medium out completely for a week or 2 so any fungus or gnat larvae dry out. Then slowly introduce moisture and see if anything emerges. If your plants do well in that soil outside assume they'll do well indoors in the right conditions
