I recently won some landrace seeds from Seedsman supposedly from the Parvatti Valley in India. The plant is 4 weeks into flower but there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of crystal. Is this common for landrace strains or is there a way to boost production? Any help or info would be greatly appreciated.
hello mate... I know parvatti strains are long flowering ‘sativas’ so I wouldnt be expecting anything too quick..
seedsman are primarily a seed bank so not the collector (not breeder as they’re landrace or localised cultivars to be precise !)!of the seeds isn’t actually seedsman if you understand what I mean??
anyway if you look up Real Seed Company (who they may have been collected by) Angus (the collector ) has put info on all the land race strains he has collected which include parvatti valley and malana (which is a village at the end of the parvatti valley btw)
I would imagine it will be a 13-16 week strain as they harvest in October and November in that part of the world.
they also make ‘live’ charas by running the buds between their palms to make hash all through the later part of growing season.
Never tried making charas from an indoor homegrow but you get some scissor hash which is basically the same thing
Hope this help
Time to pop some more beans 😗
I should add .. being a ‘land race’ resin production can vary greatly as can the amount of bud, generally this will be less than modern day hybrids.. however you have a more unique smoke in this day and age which I hope you enjoy a lot!
Being used to growing in the Himalayas it probably isn’t used to your climate so this may have an impact of when it sets flower
hope this is of some help

@chillbert Thank you for your response. The seeds that I received were apparently picked by Andrew Bill for this particular Seedsman giveaway. There is some very useful info that I found at The Real Seed Co website. Thank you for pointing the way!! I may put a few outside this spring. We have a very short growing season on the east coast of Canada and they may do very well here with the climate we have.
