I've had two grows with beginners success. It's smokeable and gets me stoned. I haven't bought any for 6 months or more.

Down the local tonight and some young dude obviously had a bag of really pungent weed!  Stunk the place out at 30 foot! It smelled gorgeous 😊

My weed never smells as good! I dry it following guides, do all the stuff you're supposed to, but it never has that tell tale reek that stinks the house out with a tenner spot bag

Where am I going wrong? Is it just strains?

@teleman Thats something iv noticed about all my weed too, none of the stuff iv grown smells like what weed used to smell like. it all has its own unique smell but none of my jars really smell like what I remember weed smelling like.

It's likely not a bad thing but I thought it was a bit strange, I wondered if it would be strain related or because of the bottled nutes or something, iv been using biobizz from the start, I dont know if the dealers bother with any of that.

But iv also gone from having a 1/4 of weed every 2 or 3 months to smoking every single day 😆 so I wasn't sure if that would play a part too seeing as im around weed the whole time now and you get used to the smell so it doesn't seem so strong 🤔

@teleman

Don’t forget also you get acclimated by your grows smell getting used to it a stranger walking in might say it stinks 😆

when your used to it & can’t really smell it.

like having a joint in the living room before going out don’t smell that much but when you get back home you notice it loads more

Cheers guys, it's definitely not 'acclimatised' sense of smell.

Interesting comment on drying temps. It was late summer so the indoor temp was around 20 C mostly. I did have RH controlled though

So who knows which strains have that traditional skunk stink?

What is ideal? Is it true you can do a good job in a fridge? Would be 5 to 8 C wouldn't it?

@teleman perfect would be about 10c  about 50% humidity so if you can get it close to that would be ideal I used to think it won't make much of a difference but I went away one winter while my weed was drying the heating didn't go on so the house was freezing and I came back to the most pungent nose burning weed I'd ever grown I'd try and avoid the fridge as believe humidity would build up I've never tried it but that's just my thinking

@mr_bud inside a fridge is definitely low RH by design.

Cheapo fridge for drying? 🤔

@teleman I mean you could try it and see how you get on would be interesting to see the results maybe do some in the fridge and some drying normally and see the difference I think the lack of air flow would keep it wet for to long not to mention it needs to breakdown and off gas the chlorophyll and the fridge is essentially a sealed container I could be completely wrong and it might work perfectly it would be interesting to see your results though 👌👌

That it’s sealed & has no airflow would cause you problems tbf.

Im no refrigeration expert but I think fridges do have good air circulation. Part of how they work innit?

@teleman the air in a fridge circulates to keep the air cool efficiently, if you are drying in a fridge you would need to still have a way to replace the stale air, there are some players in the commercial market that have developed large fridges that act as humidors and can be adjusted to specific temp and RH%....they are however far out of a percy growers budget, well my budget anyway lol. the theory is sound but a cheap fridge may cause more issues with lack of air exchange. Worth a shot if you have an old unused fridge laying about and some recently harvested buds you don't mind experimenting with.

I feel like a, like a slice of butter... melting on top of a big-ol' pile of flapjacks... yeah.
