Marijuana strains are one of my favourite topics to discuss. Previously, I have held various budtending and management positions in the dispensary world, and I could talk with customers about strains all day long. So, with that being said, it is my pleasure to introduce some of my favourite strains and why I use them. Many of these strains are readily available across North America, and seeds for those running grow-ops in illegal countries are also available. Enjoy this article about 5 of my favourite cannabis strains and their uses.
Master Kush is a strain I can never get enough of. The hazy, dreamy high associated with Master Kush is ideal for those looking to completely relax their mind and body. Master Kush has been bred from two different Indica strains in the Hindu region. Also, the Master Kush strain is incredibly useful for those with PTSD, elite-athletes, and appetite stimulation.
This strain is my favourite in terms of taste and smell. Fruity Loops makes for a fun, outgoing high. Perfect for introverts who want to venture out once every while. Fruity Loops reeks of blueberry, grapefruit, and mango. This is a high-potency strain, but, users, including myself, find this strain ideal for conversations, writing, and more.
Another heavy indica, Death Bubba is a combination of Death Star and Bubba Kush. This strain was created in British Columbia, Canada by Matteo Suleyman. The smell is skunky, but smoking this strain reveals a sweet, clean taste. Many cannabis users recommend Death Bubba for its sedative and pain relieving abilities.
Some may argue that Red Congolese is a pure African land-race strain. While this strain originated as a landrace Sativa in Africa, this particular version infuses genetics from Mexico and Afghanistan. This strain is very intense and will hit you right in the face! Also, Red Congolese puts energy levels through the roof. Perfect for day time use.
Black Diamond is another strain that puts me in a great mood, offers an amazing night's worth of sleep, and encourages recovery after sporting activities. This strain originated in Northern California and is a cross between Blackberry and Diamond OG Kush. In addition, the aroma from Black Diamond is incredibly earthy and musky. This strain makes me very hungry, so I tend to stock up the fridge when I am going to consume Black Diamond.
I also enjoy cooking with specific strains. So stay tuned right here at Percys Grow Room for more in the future and educate yourself on growing cannabis, plant problems, and much, much more.

1. Delicious candy
Great for Focus and a definite mood lifter, a cross between "lavender" and "uk cheese" I have seen 2 phenotypes (I'm sure there are probably more).
Phenotype 1 is extremely vigorous with golf ball sized buds forming from the very start of bloom however she's slow to ripen, consider reducing your hours of light a little to speed her up -
Height 1.3 metres.
Stretches from week 2 to week 5 so watch your lamp height.
A Heavy Feeder and responds well to FIM and Topping.
Pheno 2 , Shorter with less lateral branching and a more fruity aroma she has beautiful salmon Pink buds and outside she shows purple and orange foliage.
yield isn't as good as pheno 1 but the smoke is special, I suspect this pheno is the one they have pictured on the seedbank sites.
2. Big Bang
Still a favourite with myself and my girl, mostly because its a tolerance buster but also because it's very good for anxiety and will undoubtedly bring on the munchies.
I have only had the one phenotype but its a winner, great yields in ten weeks tastes of cherry and apples.
needs an extra 25% calmag from day 20 to day 50 of bloom.
3. Blueberry O.G
This is a good example of a strain that evolves during curing, yields are very good and restricted only by a lack of space, light feeding only required.
Not good for going out and socialising as the hit is initially very hard and may cause paranoia but fine for getting cozy and occasionally brings out the giggles.
Easy to grow.
4.Sativa Afghani Genetic Equilibrium SAGE.
The name "sage" is misleading as this is a sweet afghan strain of the highest order, If you are looking for bumper crops then this is a winner delivering 4 or 5 oz of dried herb.
not the hardest hitting however she creeps up on you and can dry out your mouth so make a pot of tea and break out the custard creams.
large plant needs lots of food and gets stubborn if your temps get too low.
5.Blue Dream
Good all round, a personal favourite.
heavy feeder and likes a ph slightly lower at the start of bloom, stretch is considerable so don't veg past the point of pre flower unless you are familiar with lst.
The buds are large, the herb is very nice to smoke & personally I haven't noticed any negative effects. crop at 9 weeks.
suitable for those suffering from insomnia but also good socially.
Taste is reminiscent of kush region black and blueberry.
Again a heavy yield. (TIP. Prune up from the bottom and remove the first two tertiary branches on each side once in bloom, you can then get 6 of these into a 2 metre tent and they will still perform very well)

Beautiful input mate! Blue Dream, and Blue OG are in my top five too 🙂 With Blue cheese, and Jack Herer, the fifth spot is saved for whatever im smoking now, if it isnt one of those lol

amazing work bro!! I really enjoyed reading this, especially from a growers points of view rather than a budtender/consumer perspective like mine was 😎

thanks dude it's always good to get that extra perspective, I am persevering with auto pots at the moment … had them around 18 months so if anyone needs a reason not to buy them they should talk to me. 😀 lol
