So my new light came the other day, and One end of the reflector is damaged.

 

im so disappointed after waiting for it to come( tent hasn’t arrived yet either) 

ot seems to turn on and work fine but I’m worried about it messing up down the line possibly as a result of this. Packaging was 100% perfect so I genuinely think it went into the box like this. 

what should I do? After several days i finally got in contact with someone from Mars Hydro and have sent them pictures.

That is annoying. In the first instance I'd sày you have got to give them the opportunity to put things right.

I do agree, it looks like it could not have been done without damaging the packaging.

@toploader absolutely agree. Question is...what would you accept as putting this right?

I have pictures of the packaging also and there’s no way the light could be damaged without the packaging. To be fair it was packed really well. 

 

i have a feeling I’ll be told it’s superficial etc etc.

No. You have a right to ask for the goods to be in perfect condition, afterall you paid for perfect goods. Lets see what they say. Did you buy direct from Mars Hydro ?

Buddy if it works ok I would crack on ,, Saying that I would bombard them with emails ect as its not on , Mars hydro are not known for their aftersales tbh ,,between us I may cut the corners on my pie dish and lift them ,all the best bro

@rufio sorry to hear this. You paid good money for the light i would expect a undamaged light.  hopefully you can get them to replace it.  with any luck maybe they will send you a new one and you keep the old one for the trouble

Damn man, shit when things like this happens! You get all excited for the new shit you've bought, open the box, and it isnt in the condition it should be 🙁 unlucky bro. 

You can just bend it to where it needs t be, but that's is far from the point. I would be requesting they send another, or at least give a percentage back of this sale. 

Mars have a bad rep, simply because they are a Chinese company. But personally, I haven't had a bad experience with them, and seeing others have one is rare too. I am sure they will do everything they can to rectify this mate, and if they don't, let me know, and ill have a word with them on your behalf Smile

It’s a bit of a pain with the time difference, I only get their emails middle night but hopefully It can be sorted out. 

was hard to find a way to contact them and felt I was being ignored so will see how things go and let you guys know.

That really sucks man, waiting and waiting and it arrives like that.

Sadly I've had a bad experience with Mars Hydro support and customer service. I gave them a fair shot and in my eyes they didn't delvier. I am happy with the tent I got, but the service was in my personal experience of low quality, even though I must say the communication was open and nice. I learned my lesson and no more Mars Hydro for me.

But yeah, I think everybody deserves a second chance and a shot. Try and ask them what they can offer you for them to make it up for you.

3 days now and nothing, only correspondence I’ve had from them is 1 email asking for photos, that was on the 5th.

Yea bought direct mate. It’s funny I emailed them this morning saying I was getting in touch with my bank to reverse the payment and had an email back within the hour!

 

shes trying to tell me it was shippers fault and has offered me €15

look I’m pretty sure it’s not going to affect the light but I don’t know that. I would have preferred if it had gotten damaged in transit, this way it’s looks like they knowingly packaged and sent a damaged piece of equipment. 

if she offered me 50% off I’d be happy
