If you use LEDs, it would be really great to hear how they've been working for you. Amazon reviews are great but, it would be awesome to hear about/see some successes/failures from people here on the site. Anything from California LightWorks, MIGRO, MarsHydro, HLG, FusionPRO, Unit Farm, etc.

What make/model are you currently working with?

I have a Mars Hydro epistar forget the exact name, it decent, but only really use it in my veg tent for small plant, i only flower under HID, like HPS and CMH/CMD lighting.

LED is good nowadays, but I think quantum boards are the future of lighting. Those are the light we all need to be aiming for. Invisible sun are the best I've heard of so far. They make awesome lights, but many people are now building their own to reduce the costs.

Most LED companies will claim a certain wattage, but its always best to check the actual draw from the wall, as most of them exaggerate how much light the plants actually get.

HPS for the win lol. Unless you can afford QBs

That the freebie you got from that marshyrdo competition?

Assume you already reached out to them again, regarding percy

Mate, they are not too discreet with packaging, there was an incident at the old place, where they put a members tracking number for their package like in the public forum! If anyone searched it, the would have had his address.

They're a great company that make good lights..... but I won't take risks like that here.

I'm running 4 viparspectra 300w lights @ 24" in my veg tent pulling 552w at the wall. Was using only 2 but now that i re-potted them i need more area covered. They seem to be doing a decent job.

In the flower tent I have a marshydro TS1000 @ 18" on 1 plant, it seems to like it so I ordered 2 more,I also have a mars 600w and 2 mars 300w in there also.

I will move the 2 mars 300w lights to the veg tent as soon as my next 6 seedlings sprout and add the 2 new TS1000 lights to the flower tent, I have 3 Castanoo (claims to be) 1000w lights that emit a lot of red i may add them in flower also to see if they are good for anything.

we shall see how they all perform.  my diary is 6 little seedlings

@twisted1

I am VERY interested to hear how those TS1000s do... I am looking at a couple of them for my 4x4 to run in the summer when the heat is a mafk. Just gotta get some $$. The guy who runs/builds the beastly MIGRO LEDs out of Ireland did a review on the TS1000 and he was quite impressed with it.

So I have run a few models:

My first lights were some no name '1000W replacement' made in Shenzhen, China. They were decent quality, and definitely worked to grow some pretty dank Blue Dynamite. I was actually super impressed with how they managed for as not powerful as they are. They only pull 80W each! I use them now as supplemental lights in my 4x4 next to my HID. Or wherever I need some extra crazy blurple light.

No name LEDs 80W draw
Blue Dynamite

I came into some MarsHydro gear relatively recently, due to some very unfortunate circumstances. I have the Mars II 900, Mars II 1600, and a Mars Reflector 144. I have used the 1600 for a mostly experimental grow (2 of my mystery autos, plus another random photoperiod) so I can't speak directly to it's efficacy in regards to a full grow, but, it grew me a couple of ridiculous plants. Really compact, dense buds. The 1600 is a heavy mofo though, at something like 16kg. The 900 is a bit lighter, and the Reflector weighs basically nothing comparatively. The 1600 has a draw of about 630W, which isn't any better than a traditional 600W HID, and get pretty damn warm as well. Heat was an issue on the warmer days. I measured the light with a basic LUX meter and found that at the same height, my HID gave off 1.5-2x more light at the various spots around the tent. That said, LEDs can be a lot closer to the canopy than HIDs so, that would possibly even out the discrepancy. You do lose coverage area though. I haven't used the 900 yet, but I suspect it would perform similarly to the 1600, just with a smaller coverage area. I haven't used the Reflector 144 for cannabis yet, but it grew some ridiculously amazing Philippine Labuyo Hot Peppers. Its draw, with both veg and bloom on, is about 430W. I did actually have a couple Blue Moonshines vegging under it before I moved them to the large tent to flower, and wow were they compact. Average internodal distance was about 4x less, compared with the HID (about 1cm under the LED and about 4cm under the HID).

I've only ever vegged under LED. Always HID lighting for flower, 315w CMH or 600w of HPS. Need some QBs man, they seem to do an epic job for the whole grow. And some of them have the IR and UV built into them too now.

Ten years from now, grow lights are gonna be epic, and much cheaper.... hopefully

I think ur righ macky quantum boards seem to do the best as to what I've seen n the same diodes r used in alot of lights but I do think theres a place for all lights it's just the tech atm is not known enough about by ur average Joe especially... invisible sun av some lovely examples too .. I'm a hps user too but use a meizhi 600w led for the first 10 to 14 days aswell n it does really well only 270w from the wall but does its job well ... good luck all
