So having completed a first run with the migro array 240w leds I thought I’d post my thoughts and findings so far.

I have 2 x 240w arrays for flower, 1 of which has 10% far red.

My understanding of the far red is that is makes the light run more efficiently. Affects on plant growth remain unproven clearly as yet..

I also use 1 x 240w array for veg in a 2 x 5 floor space (a 2 x 4 x 5 tent on its side to increase floor area btw)

The initial veg growth I saw was awesome .. it took some practise finding the optimal distance and power (they have 0-100% dimmer switch). I used to use fluorescent and sometimes MH for veg and neither compare imo

I had the biggest seed leaves I’ve ever seen plus superb all round growth so very impressed with using for veg.

The flowering area is approx 3 feet wide by 4-4.5 feet long which 2 x 240 arrays cover v nicely .

From a total of 7 plants of all different strains (including plant of the month December Red Mandarin)I harvested just under 660g dried bud (dried to 58% with stems removed).

The strains grown yielded each yielded between 80 and 120g per plant and took between 8.5 and 11 weeks to flower.

from 480w that is excellent imo and comfortably higher than I achieved regularly with 600w hps (previous  best being 680g but typically 500-600g and in a 4x4 area) That was also growing multi strains of varying yields.

Under flower I can get the lights to 5” from buds ok with no burn.

The space needed to hang the light is just 6” as it can be hung from its cable. This can be  very useful where height space is limited.

The lights run pretty warm to the touch and emit heat enough for my area without need for additional heating. It does not provide the levels of heat an hps does which can be both useful at times and unhelpful at other times depending on your ambient climates.

The cost for me was £280 each but £300 for the far red which is not cheap but I do still think it’s good value for money. I also didn’t pay any import tax as I bought them last August before we left the EU. Postage was £20.

The light is clearly very effective and very efficient. I enjoy not having to buy bulbs anymore.

The true cost / value will not really be known until we see how long it lasts. Depending on this you could work out it’s cheaper than hps (over 3-5 years but more expensive for less than this ie 1-2 years use. With rising electric costs I think the savings are to be made for sure..

One of the drivers wasn’t working on arrival and Migro sent me out a replacement immediately at no cost and a post bag to send faulty one back.. so customer service gets a 👍 too!

So overall I’m very pleased indeed with these lights and happy to recommend them if you’re ok with the out lay. That’s personal choice.

I think the competition around today will gradually force prices down a bit but who knows..!?
There are certainly more and more leds out there including ones of same performance at lower cost, and vice versa... also lots of shite out there too (mostly on Amazon 😉)

Hope this is helpful.

Please feel free to add your thoughts, experiences or questions

I also have the UVB light from Migro in position and will review in due course.

so you actually only need 5” of hanging height space as it turns out

pictured my current grow diary seedlings on the left  (first 4 from 6) plus some peppers 🫑 on the right

Area being covered 2  x 5 (in a 2 x 4 x 5 on its side)

@rufio having the tent on its side works but does compromise the floor mat (now not big enough) and the vents now not where they should be but there are usually plenty to choose from so something can be worked out..

roll on bespoke made to measure tents lol

I'm loving my new Migrow 4 the veg plants are growing even better than they normally do under the Photon LEDs. Very pleased with the purchase, although import tax to the UK was a shock (fucking Brexit)

We cannot choose what we are, yet what are we but the sum of our choices...
