Hi team, sorry I haven’t been around. I’m moving and it’s been hectic. Anyway, I wanted to report I did 4 Jack Herer plants under this lamp and ended up with just under an LB. 440 grams bone dry trimmed manicured nuggs. One of the JH phenos finished super fast and yielded half of the others. So if I did 4 of the pheno that’s a keeper I would have probably had a harvest of 550 grams.

But, even with that dud the SF 2000 yielded 1.76 grams per watt. Folks that is FUCKING AMAZING. I never hit more than .75 grams per watt with 1000w HPS in 30 years of growing. I hit 1 gram per watt with 315 CMH lamps.

These Samsung LED’s are awesome. I would be interested to try a couple Mars SP 250’s next to the spider farmer and see if Mars LED’s perform as well as the Samsung’s.

@ned congratulations on the fat haul brother. Super glad you posted this as my SF2000 arrives on Tuesday and it will be going against 3 Mars SP150 lights. Should be interesting. A pound off 4 plants is nothing short of WONDERFUL! A harvest to be proud of man! Now I can’t wait for Tuesday.

Hey thats awesome. Im new to growing n defo getting the spiderfarmer lights. Im really confused tho. My tent is 1.2mx1.2mx2m . Will the sp2000 be suffiecient enough or should i opt for sp4000? Or would a combination of lights be better ?

My tent is .9 x .51. The info that I found said this light is suitable for .6 x 1.2 so it’s a good fit for me. I’d assume that in 1.2 x 1.2 would work best with 2 but would be interested in what Ned has to say.

Did you do anything else differently or was the gram per watt all because of the light

Got an idea for comparison. It might not be Ned level but it could be objective. I just got a new SF2000 and installed it today. In an identical tent I have two SP150’s. Also have 2 Violet Kush Autos a couple weeks old. Gonna put one in each tent, same feed and light schedule. Can keep the light level equal on both and see what’s up. Just naked eye observation looks like the spider farmer is a little more in the red range. Already modified my diary once so on to the next adventure 🧐

@monkeydo agreed I think the biggest advantage to 2 2000’s over 1 4000 is that if you have 2 lights and 1 fails, it sucks but it isn’t the end of your crop.

Also, if I recall the price of the 4000 is exactly the price of 2 2000’s so no savings on the lamps.

@wrh I’ve growing indoors for 30 years and at this point I have a very consistent program. I don’t ever change up my nutes, etc. I may go with a Scrog, or SOG technique, but I have found I’ll end up with relatively the same per sq foot with all those techniques. Sometimes I use coco, sometimes I use a bubbler. These were grown in 3 gallon pots of coco. Hand water, no automation. 1 feed per day. If I installed a drip I bet my yield would go up another 15-20%.

On the other side of the tent I did two 315cmh’s and pulled 512 g of bone dry manicured nugg. So that is .83g per watt. Less than half per watt. I also have to say if any difference at all between the CMH and LED flowers, to my surprise the LED flowers may even be a little better in quality besides density.

So I happen to be moving this week and I’m kissing goodbye CMH’s.

Also, another old timer tip. DO NOT waste your money on trendy expensive microbes. I was suspicious so I ran plants side by side TWICE just to validate they do absolutely nothing. If there was literally anything I could do to make my plants better, I always do it. But those microbes, and to be candid, lots of trendy additives and supplements are worthless.

I know a grower who is amazing, usually only does HiBrix organic style. But he has grown countless harvests of hydro and says the 3 Part General Hydroponics powder is all you need. He reminds me that’s all they used in Amsterdam when hydro first became a thing. I use Advanced Nutrients because it delivers and it’s got a foolproof PF buffer. Folks that’s a big deal especially if you are not an experienced grower. Keeping your PH at 6 can make or break a new, or even a grower who just doesn’t realize how important it is. Bud
