Welcome Everyone! Too my first auto diary! Luckily and thankfully mentor by the legend himself...     *Drum roll*        Macky! ?

With my last grow shy on the quality size, due to bad seed/height issue and just pure first grower, school boy errors! Im determined to create the best smoke ive had! Im bit late on creating my diary and already have started the germination and planted into my grow, my room is very awkward sadly being under staircase, But with intention of small and bushy i tend to make it quick grow, instead of my 7 month monster last time.

Just quick run through of my equipment; I will be using CFL 300W for the first couple weeks of seedling then switching to a 660w dimmable HPS depending how my room can handle the heat, will adjust my light 600w/400/250w, Will also be using 3 gallon fabric pots with bio bizz all mix soil, as well dutch pro explode and buddhas tree PK for nutrient. I have very little left so an alternative suggestion would be nice. I will be using a 6 in carbon filter from rhino pro, With my spacing under the stairs my inlet and outlet is scuffed. unsure what to do worried this effected my last grow.
i will make sure to upload photo on my grow room, im certain i still need a few more things. More then keen to buy some new bits if i can get some suggestion? Assuming i need a good cooler to tackle the hps lights in my small space, as well some decent fans this time. but i need small and powerful for my space restriction.

Gotta make sure there are no Light leaks at all mate. Good genetics is also a good start 😉

You won't need nutrients for a couple of weeks at least, so no rush deciding what to use. Considering you're using bio biz medium, habe you considered using their nutrients?

What do you mean by inlet is scuffed?

Yeah Had that issue last time :/ Not to serious right now as not sprouted? But i will get a curtain up, and with the 20/4 cycle i will make sure its with prime nighttime, stop any chance leakage with blackout curtain, and taping any edges.

I used biobizz nutrient last time, but honestly felt they was too cheap ^^ Ive got nothing to compare from so not really sure, didnt seem have much issue with it, maybe will be best to stay with there product

Mate tbf, they're all the same thing really. It doesn't matter what you choose, the active ingredients are all the same. But it is best to go with what other growers like to use, and Dutch Pro have a great reputation. Maybe just go with those? Jut make sure its a god soil nutrient and not for hydro 😉

Old timers are a good brand for soil grows

Organic lines from Advanced nutis are also good

Maybe try Organicus too, that's a good food from Buddhas tree.

Your choice man, what ever you feel comfortable using.

I paid £70 for a 50 lt bag of Canna Bio soil & 4 bottles of organic nutes, Rhizo, Vega, Flores & Boost from my hydro shop...was doing well until the chop came...maybe look into that

Dutch Pro Explode is expensive stuff...pissed me right off, bought 1 ltr and closed down my grow...not even opened it yet 🙁

Very soon though...

So it begins! Please no judgement for the temporary hillbilly layout. Im pretty stumped what to use to raise my plant pot, enough get drip tray anyway, as well not losing to much height. resulted in using a oven rack lifted enough by cd racks. Only issues, not stable at all and too small for both plants so Ive got A extendable oven rack in my amazon basket. i was going order it but thought see if anyone had alternative suggestion first, maybe just the smoke doing it but im stumped how else to do this. as long the rack long enough, placing on some clean bricks should secure it more then enough. in my head ^^ losing minimal height. Aggro with the space, but is what it is.

I did hear good things about the dutch explode so i got it for the end stage my last grow as i run out. i barely touched the thing. so couldnt really give any feedback. im pretty sure just for the flowering stage so will need get one there other products regardless. im not to worried about the price, im really want to focus on quality at this stage now! i have planted with the bio bizz all mix soil, I gave it small amount of water (centre) 2 days ago, seemed moist still today. My memory so faded with this is all but i recall i could potentially add a bottle over my seedling? My GGG1 Has amazed me! (favourite out the two) sunk within 12 hours, Then broken soil within 24 hours! i have high hopes for this beauty.

Yes mate get the CFL as close as you can within a few centimetres man. They don't burn hot so not at risk of burning your plants. Id say 4 inch was a good starting place, get closer if they are happy with it.

You can place a plastic cup over the plants when they first shoot, but its not necessary, plus, the shoot will need a breeze to grow strong. Just let them pop, and we can go from there

Could add some sort of reflective light shade over the top of your CFL half your light is trying to grow the bottom of the stairs instead of the plant. and is that something aluminum as a reflector on the left side of that pic? Macky tells me things painted white are better and you seem to trust him too.

Thats a good point, you need a shade on that light mate, you're losing fifty percent of it because it going upwards and not being reflected back

Yeah good shout you're not wrong, only going to use it for couple weeks tho then hps but I will get one ordered, it's not aluminium forgot the prober name but its suitable for grow. I had brought it for my last one and had bit left over. Left side of the photo is a stud wall, on wooden so thought better then nothing, as white paint on wood doubt be reflective?

Clean the CFL Lucas, they're dust magnets and with the layer of dust, they heat up quite a lot, without the dust layer, you can go lower than 4" mate 😉

get a 250w MH mate, that'll suit the youngins lovely. And we will let the hillbilly shit pas for the first grow, but we expect to see upgrades next time lol 😉

Your HPS will be fine mate, no need to rush to get a new one. GEt the MH first, then use the old hPS, upgrade when you can so you have a spare. But those things can run for a long time before they become less efficient. You'll be fine using it still.

Okay sweet our just order a MH in and stop using the CFL? saves me getting a reflector for it, Wicked wasnt 100% on life but thats enough reassurance to use it, will get a spare HPS on next pay slip.
