Hello peeps, I’m starting to panic that I’m running out of height in my grow space. I’m on week 10 of this northern lights auto grow and the plant is only about 4inches from the light and I still think I’ve got about 6weeks to go and the last thing I wanna do now is lose my main cola either too bleaching or cutting it. I’m just after some advice on what my options are. I can probs get the light about an inch higher but that’s it any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.
@turbotitch it might be a thought but ... have you thought about SUPER CROPPING ? I know it’s not for everyone ,but it could help.
Recovery time is essential in order to achieve the best results from the technique.
@turbotitch can you tie the top down, the stem looks pretty pliable try and tie it down onto the pot so you can still move the plant about that should help hope it works for you
I would make a hole in the top edge of the pot, opsite side to the tall cola and pull the stem down gently (using some garden wire) antill you feel some resistance, you should be able to pull it down 1" more every day antill you get it to a good height, slow and gentle is key.
Use nose pliers to turn the wire (this will pull the shoot down slow and gentle) near the pot as this gives you the best control
Super crop and bend it 90 degrees
@jsh1973 bro I did that once and totally confused the poor thing ,everything above the 90 turned to popcorn bum fluff , but I may of hamboned it 😆
Suckin on Diesel
Thanks for all of the responses. I don’t really want too chop it, I think I’ll have a go at bending it slowly and hope I don’t snap anything. I’ll let you know how it goes, again thanks for the replies I appreciate everyone’s input
Snap it. Or just damage it and bend it over. That’s probably what I would do you can do it without destroying all the tissues for a fast recovery how hard are the stems?
And Or you can alter the way your light hangs from the cables it will give you more room than you think
I didn’t have the balls to snap or break her. I’ve managed to to bend the top over, the top was pretty soft tbh. Im still going to look at adjusting the light also. Not sure if I’ve bent it too much but it will be interesting to see how it recovers. Thanks again everyone for your help
@jsh1973 bro I did that once and totally confused the poor thing ,everything above the 90 turned to popcorn bum fluff , but I may of hamboned it 😆
I tried rubbing the strem ( healthy green) between my thumb and finger .(A week in flower 12/12)Antill it became soft and lent it over 90% and there was a good amount of bud come harvest and it recovered really well but the other main stems on the plant that received the same light gave me upto 50% more bud
My guess its like having a narrow connector with a 90% angle, its just not going to be as productive
got the same results a few times.
You have done a great job with pulling the stem over but you have pulled her down a little too much, you want the top of the shoot slightly angled up so she keeps growing
@jacks_farm hey mate I wasn’t sure if I got a bit carried away with pulling her down. I’ve since released some of the tension, so hopefully it will continue to grow. All a learn curve for me, thanks for the help
