What is Background EC?
Background EC, or BG EC, is the electro conductivity of your source of water, before adding any nutrients.
If you’re using water from the tap, then you can check the background EC by using an EC meter, or you can search for your local water supplier, as they will provide you with the EC, and what trace elements can be found in your water.
