The seeds were dropped into some water that had been allowed to reach 22±0.5⁰C.

Everything is left to right (1,2,3).

Seed 1 had a huge tap root, 2 was fairly regular, and 3 was tiny.

Each seed was put into the ACI 3gal pots with 12l of coir in them. The coir was presoak and allowed to drain in a very light nutrient solution of Si, CaMg, A, B, Ryzo, phDn & MamP.

Domes were added and the flood system was tested with the mass on top... I need to level it lol... the nutes get ring clenchingly closed to overflow... if it wasn't for water tension id be buggered.

3rd Day in and 1 looks good? 2 has some yellowing and 3 is taking it's time... kinda representative of how the tap root developed.

Screenshot 20250201 012351

I'm gona have to see about that yellowing.

#1 Still looks pretty good?

#2 Is greening up. This prolly points to me being a fanny and trying to remove the testa. I thought it was struggling but probably wasn't ready and the light hitting it too soon killed nearly all the chlorophyll.

#3 IT'S ALIVE! The wee lassie started showing specs of green thru the coir late last night. And now shes starting to rise above the coir... Tiny but alive.

I'm so chuffed and theres a long way to go.

Took the domes off and increased the vpd... as one of the plants looked a little sweaty. Still #3 despites its lateness and size has shot past #2... which ive definitely caused some sort of stress.

The last couple of days ive been keeping a close eye on these little drama queens to see if I could encourage them on.

When I was setting up the flood system I made a test routine to confirm its efficacy. I discovered the other day it was still active... so for a minute everyday its been flooding. Which means these wee tricky trollops have been getting over watered... stupit boy.

I also noticed that the leaves when fondled have a very dry almost rigidness about them... I was expecting them to be firm but still supple.

Plus #1 was still showing discolouration.

My first port of call was to turn off that flood routine. I gave it a day to see how the response in the coir was. It had already been about 24h when I realised so the coir got nearly 48h of dry off.

I did a small top feed of just temp matched water in a circle half way between the plant and pot.

The light was turned down to my initial sprouting level. And #2 got its humidity dome back as it was not looking happy.

#1 Shot out more leaves overnight and seems to be recovering colour... much happier.

#3 has taken off and is loving it... slow and steady. This wee bad boy had an extra day and a half underground. It's nearly caught up with #1.

#2 although much happier in the dome, it is looking ugly... ive definitely damaged something when tugging on her testa

Im happy... never got this far before.

#1 is racing ahead... noticed the very tips of the big leaves starting to get a slight burnt bit.

#2 is just staying low and skinny

#3 is just happy.

Think im gona take the domes off of #1 n #2 and see how they like it. #3 aint bothered.

Im so happy they're starting to take off and even if #2 doesn't really do anything I'm still gona keep it going for the experience.

After giving them all just under a litre of pHd water...

#1 is now node'n up daily... beautiful. #3 is following close behind with a slight droop today.

#2 is just living, staying low and reaching wide. Don't tug on your testa 😂

After last nights show I realised I wasn't feeding them anywhere nearly enough so I gave them some food and they've gone perky again... well except for #2 shes just doing her own thing.

#1 Has some weird issues on the first leaves...

PXL 20250217 113147131

... its defo from me being a muppet and letting the coco dry too much.

First ever top... just got stuck in tbh. #1 n #3 were at node five so topped them at node three. Im amazed how thick the stems are getting. Im thrilled at getting this far... whomever suggested the folier spray basically saved them all.

#1 is growing tall and seems really strong now.

#3 is a little short but at the same node as #1

#2 I left alone... she seems happy but properly ground hugging

PXL 20250223 225335991

Ive started everyday just having a look at the leaves and doing some defoliation of dead or struggling leaves. The plants seem to like it, everyday there seems to be a boost.

Ive also switched from 24h to 20/4h because of the folier spray, but they all seem to be doing better for it so I'm sticking with it.

Ive noticed they have started drinking, noticeable daily differences in tank volume. Im gona increase the flood count and then in a few day start to increase the EC. They are at 1.0 the now but ill see how the plants respond. The leaves are saying they want more light too I think but I'll see what they do tomorrow and adjust.

The plants are doing great. I'm so out of my depth.

The two very stunted ones on the right have got a bit of growth and are now reaching above the aides of the fabric pots (I didn't expect the coir to sink as much as it did, so the plants a low, like 3in from the top).

The plants are sucking up nutes at 2EC/5.8pH. I dunno if this is two strong but they're not showing any burning, they're just taking it.

I reorganised my room so I can get my computer chair and stool in and out easier. This led to giving the gals a quick trim, getting rid of some of the undergrowth that was not going to do anything.

With the additional length on #2 and #3 I was able to tie down four branches to the ports to spread things out a bit... im so chuffed I could do that cos they were looking bunched

I took one lower fan leaf off because it looked peaky but the others above and below were all fine.

Now ive been sitting here, feet up, playing on my phone with my sunglasses on just smoking and enjoying the plants... ive been here for 2.5h. I think im starting to get why people like this.

Funny story though... after I did the trim I had a good handful of leaves. Now bear in mind ive never got this far before. I stuck my face in them and gave them a sniff... offt. I was somehow surprised that they smelled of cannabis 🤣

Im fed up mixing nutes. Im gona need to look at building a programmable nute mixer and dispenser.

@greengrowsir Were they starting to flower when you trimmed them by any chance, it can cause them to stretch a lot.

When they start flowering It's best not to cut anything off them for about 21 days.

You could set the shorter plants up on stools or buckets or something to level them out a bit if you want.

@stootie there were signs of flower last week before I took off a few manky leaves and cleared away some lower leaves that were clogging up airflow.

I didn't realise it would affect it so much.

Id love to raise them, but im not setup for a multilevel flood n drain... yet.

Its gona have a to wait till tomorrow. Ive adjusted what I can and it should be fine till tomorrow. I do have a 2x4 that needs building, probably going to transfer the big one out.

Got a dehumidifier coming too as I canny get the RH down below 75.
