Hi Brothers and Sisters,
I've had a love letter from RMCP, in extremely small print, I'll have to magnify it to read it properly, but the jist of it is that a prohibited substance was seized. It was a seed order from 7east genetics in Canada, I'm in the UK. I thought seeds were legal there and here, anyone know what the issue is? Are they likely to inform UK police?
7east replaced the seeds, no questions asked, so thumbs up to them.
Mother nature teaches us how little we know something every time we grow something.
After magnifying it, it looks as though I have 90 days to dispute it anyway, so I
got at least a grow before I worry about it,lol.

@phil-the-canopy sucks Phil, I’m no legal expert. That said, if you’re really concerned (and can afford it) seek legally council.
Here’s my take on it-
- if you’re not breaking your cuntrys laws (ordering souvenirs), I think there is less to worry about.
- RMCP are following a formality by notifying you, after finding something they found non-kosher (I’m not an expert on Canadian law, maybe they have a bio law when it comes to importing and exporting, I’m guessing). If you don’t dispute it, they will likely destroy it and go about their day. Too busy thinking about their next donut to worry about a few seeds.
However, I’m a paranoid SOB, so I’m really not sure how I’d feel in your shoes. I think the likelihood of not hearing about it again are good, but…………

prohibited substance was seized
Bastards man. I think Sevans is right though, its more the seeds themselves rather than what seeds they are. Invasive species and all that shit. At the same time, the government in the UK right now is going tyrannical IMO, and it wouldn't surprise me if they change the law to make seeds illegal too. Anything they can do to restrict us seems to be the way they will go on anything now.
I think you will be ok an no one is going to come knocking over a few seeds mate.

Just for clarity, is the RMCP an acronym from the UK? Or was it seized by the RCMP in Canada?
If the seizure of prohibited goods took place on the Canadian export side, I’d think you’d have little to worry about and as Sevans said, the notice you received is probably just a formality. If the goods were taken on the UK customs side of things, it could be a different story and I don’t know what the powers that be over there would do. Unlikely to have much legal consequences for the seeds but it could put you under more scrutiny if you continue a home grow. Just my thoughts.

@phil-the-canopy i remember TG talking about issues with seeds in and out of Canada, when we were trading seeds a while back. some thing to do with invasive seeds or something along those lines.

Phil, if you see a Mountie arrive on horse, go out the back door.
