High Percy Growers, this will be my first attempt making S1 feminized cannabis seeds. I will take cuttings from my Baked Apple mom (Northern Lights x Cinderella 99) I will make the STS Spray next to reverse one of the female clones to a male clone. I will then use the reversed (male) clone to pollinate the female clone. This will produce S1 feminized seeds. I will document everything here, so come follow along the journey!
I took the cuttings from my Baked Apple mom (Northern Lights x Cinderella 99) on 1/19/25 using the following process.
- Soak the root plugs in 6.0 PH water.
- Fill a glass with room temperature 6.0PH water.
- Sterilize the scissors with isopropyl or hypochlorous acid.
- Select and take cuttings, place them directly into the glass of water to prevent an embolism.
- cut the tips off the bigger leaves leaving about 3/4 of each finger.
- Take the root plug out of the water and lightly squeeze until the steady stream of water comes to a drip.
- Take the cutting out of the glass of water and cut at a 45-degree angle through a node and lightly scrape the stem.
- Transfer some of the Clone X Rooting Gel into a separate container. *Do not dip different cuttings into the same container of Clone X due to possible contamination.
- Dip the cut stem into Clone X Rooting Gel and stick it into the root plug.
- Place the new cutting into the clone dome.
- Discard any leftover Clone X in the separate container.
- Use a spray bottle to keep the root plug moist not soaking wet.
- Wait 1-2 weeks for roots to develop.
The cuttings are growing roots out the plugs 8 days later on 1/26/25.

I learned the clear bag over the top trick from Seedperson1, this helps keep the humidity up.

@terppopotamus I’d like to add,
Alcohol will not kill hop latent viroid. Alcohol actually stabilizes the viroid and increases chances of transmission. The best thing to sterilize your scissors with, is a 10% mix of plain unscented bleach and water. Better yet hypochlorous acid instead of bleach. I prefer HOCI because it won’t corrode or pit metal like bleach will.

Thanks for the additional comment @sevans1965. I did not know about sterilizing with bleach mix / hypochlorous acid (HOCI) over Isopropyl alcohol. Sevans knows his shit everyone, take his word for it!

TWO WEEKS, since the clones were planted into 1-gallon pots, they have been kept on 18/6 light cycle.
The Baked Apple clones have been placed in the veg tent along with their backups. I will be setting up a 2x2 in a different area for this project. Thanks for checking in! 😎👍

Week 3
The 2x2 is set up and the clones have been moved in. I still need to raise the humidity up. They do look happy under the HLG 200 R spec on 50% power though.
The left will be the reverse (male). The right will be receiver (female).
I'm going to let them veg on 18/6 for another week. I will document making the STS spray and add that with the next update. Thanks for checking in! 😎👍
