Popped 2 beans on 12/12/23 to experiment with running autos in my veg tent to supplement my total crop.
I'm excited to try these seeds out, I bought 10 seeds total, 2 different strains and they sent me 42 seeds, 7 strains. So if they're good they have a customer for life!
I want to keep them small, so I have them in 1 gal. fabric pots, topped them twice, and let them recover. Just started training them a bit and adjusted things so they have a little more room to grow. Seeing my first signs of flowers starting!
One thing I'm hoping to get some advice on is exactly how much I can defoliate without pushing it too far, things are getting crowded in my little 2x2!
Did a heavier defoliation last night, she seems to be bouncing back well. Pistols are popping for sure!
My smaller auto plant has a few spots starting to appear on about 5 or so leaves. Been feeding flower nutrients at quarter strength, I keep the PH between 5.8-6.3 the bigger plant is happy as hell, I'm wondering if being a little stunted I should still be feeding this one veg nutrients? Any input is much appreciated!
It would be easier to diagnose with pictures of the whole plant as well. We need to see the big picture too
The dark green color and the browning on some tips and edges plus the damage being low on the plant leads me to suspect over feeding and lockout. Burned leaf edges are a common symptom of excess potassium so your bloom nutrients can be partially to blame. One great think about coco is it’s simple to flush and reset and that’s going to be my recommendation here. Something has gotten out of balance. Give her a good flush and re-feed her at a lower EC. The bad spots won’t get better but they should stop developing more spots.
I’m not really sure what your EC input is. All you mentioned was 1/4 strength feed. Any idea what is the input EC and output EC is.
After flushing and lowering the strength of my flower nutes, I think we're back on track. Runoff EC has been about .3 higher than input, new growth is looking happy and I'm not seeing any issues spreading to other leaves.
My bigger auto is looking very happy and no signs of stress there. Whole veg tent seems to be going nuts!
Looking happy and healthy now with the lower nute mix. No further signs of burn or deficiency.
I don't know what the breeder says to expect for flowering time on these seeds, but I've read that most autos are ready in 8-10 weeks. Well tomorrow is the start of week 7 and something tells me these ladies will take a bit longer than that!
First signs of trichromes started showing this week. Positive vibes and checking every 4 hours don't seem to be hurrying things along any. Patience. Patience.
Colas are really starting to fill out and get beefy on the bigger girl.
My little weed plant that could is probably going to need a few weeks longer, so we'll be looking at an early March harvest at least for her.
Lot's of progress in the last 10 days. I think we are on pace to chop the bigger gal in the next two weeks. The littler one might take a week or two longer, the little sister is also the frostier of the two though which is impressive.
Decided to chop the bigger of the two autos today. The small one will be going next week. I'm doing a little experiment with this one. Wet trimming half, gonna dry trim the other half.
Smells really good! Can't wait to try it!
Well done mate nice job, Good luck with the drying 🙂
I've been drought stressing my littler gal for the past 5 days to try and encourage some interesting terps. That's definitely brought on senescence like crazy so I'm starting to see a lot of pretty colors coming out. Planning to chop it in 2 more days.
My drying plant seems to be going a little too quickly. Threw a tester nug in a jar and the meter is showing 60% but it smells like grass still.
Chopped the littler gal yesterday. She turned out bigger than the other with the extra week. Wet weight is 4.5 oz.
The other plant is dry and curing, really not pleased with how it turned out so I'm hoping the cure helps improve the flavor. I tried fridge drying that plant and after 6 days it was sitting at 47% but still smelled grassy, so I trimmed it up and put it in a grove bag with a teeny bit of lemon peel to help bring the humidity back up, it worked with a vengeance and now we're sitting back at 69%. Transferred it to a jar and I'm just gonna burp it down from there.
