Hi. I’ve had issues germinating some older seeds and as a result I’ve got 3 autos of different ages in my tent. 2 of them are fine but the tiniest is suffering from too much light intensity and I’ve probably fried her. I was wondering if anyone has any good workarounds for this situation. I was thinking a fly screen type mesh may work as a “sunshade” that I could suspend above the seedling. Any other ideas?

@surfer Usually dimming the light is a good option, but if you cant do that, raise the light.

I’ve got one auto 4 weeks old, one 3 weeks and one just a few days old. It’s cold and I’ve got a heat mat in my space so raising and lowering 10 gallon pots isn’t happening. I could lower the ppfd to suit my seedling but then I’m going to get stretch in the other two.  What do other people do in this situation? Usually I just stash smaller pots away in shady corners but Im in the final home 10 gal pot. I’m looking for some kind of partial shade to control intensity to one plant only. Typing that I just realised SHADECLOTH! That would work but I don’t have any. Anyone got practical experience?

Lower the ppfd, but get the bigger plants on a bucket or book, something like that, so they are closer to the light 😉

@macky yeah, done that before with smaller pots but these are 10 gallon pots of living soil, pretty heavy plus I kinda need the heat mat to keep temps sweet. I’ll keep this lifting idea in reserve. I think I’ll try some fly screen style mesh. Still lets full spectrum through but should knock back the ppfd a bit. I can’t believe I’m such an idiot to fry my seedling when I had a load of trouble germinating in the first place. The trials and tribulations of stealth growing under prohibition!
