Question, my Green Crack Auto is at week 6 of flower as of this coming Wednesday according to my calculations.
There is a fair amount of amber trichomes on her already. I see lots of cloudy trichomes, a few clear trichomes, and amber trichomes. Is it possible for her to be ready already?
I thought I'd get some options from more experienced growers. Thank you.

She doesn't look ready to me. Do you know her overall age from the first day above ground? With the auto's that I've done I go by their overall time and trichomes too of course. My earliest have been around 95 days and I have one currently at 114+ days since breaking ground. Since their flowering initiates automatically that can varies early to late and the old argument of when does flower start gets thrown out the window.
So if your on day 40? of flower and lets say she started flower early at 28 days then she could be as young as 68 days and that what she looks like to me. Now Sir @Bubblehok has gone nose to nose with an auto or two before so he's the man of the hour, and @Monkeydo is no stranger to danger or auto's either.
But if your seeing amber trichomes that's interesting, they could be damaged or possible trichomes on sugar leaves. IMO she's needs more time, I like my cake done all the way through.

did you check trichomes on leaves or buds? those 2 can differ a lot

Hey mate, trichomes are only telling half the story, you want to be watching for the calyx to swell along with it the amber and cloudy trichomes, the last few weeks is where a lot of the weight is put on. I have had some autos finish in that 70 day window but it's rare, usually they will go 12 weeks or so. To give you an idea this one is at day 73 from seed and she has at least a week to go
The ber trichomes can show for a few reasons early, usually it's the result of either stress or an outside factor like fans blowing on them that can cause them to go amber prematurely. I would be looking at your lower buds and how they are swelling up, I know it can be deceiving sometimes but if you pull those now imo they will dry out light and airy as they haven't begun that final swell yet from what I can see. Hope that helps

@woodi2 looking at my records, she broke ground February 9th. So she's only 53 days old if my math is correct. The amber trichomes are on the sugar leaves that I see. I'll look again in the morning. I didn't really think about that. Hahaha. Just got a little excited and then of course I was worried. I didn't want to chop too soon. This is the first auto I have ever grown. So I figured I'd ask here.

@bubblehok definitely helps! My first auto flower, so it's a little bit different. Thanks bubblehok.

@galandil yep, it appears all the amber trichomes are on the sugar leaves.

Doing my first autos in like 8+ years so I don't know but I'm learning vicariously through you, thanks! Looking good

@bangswitch2a yeah autos are great but can throw spanners in the works if your not used to them, as a rule of thumb I start checking trichomes around week 10 from the day they break ground. Usually they will take a week or so more to be done. Most autos I find finish up around week 11-12 depending on the strain although I have had more than one push 13-15 weeks, especially the sativa dom ones. Don't be afraid to ask the questions though mate thats why we are here

@bangswitch2a, no problem this is how we learn, these are things you won't forget now. Success!!!
