Hey all, I noticed in the Grow Guides under the lighting section you show pictures of the KIND LED lights. I’m really curious if anyone has any tips or tricks on preventing this thing from bleaching and burning my flowering plants? I know they recommend the canopy to be 18” away. I never actually measured but eyeballing, I always tried to keep the distance more than 18”. Just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience with the KIND brand.  I am gonna do another run and just scrog it as low as possible and see if that makes a difference.

I’m not familiar with those lights, and didn’t easily find what you are referring to in the grow guides— it is a big site. Any chance you can post a link?

I would think that most LEDs about 18” away would not cause bleaching. I could be wrong.

Any photos? Was this a single plant or more than one? Bleaching only at the top of the plant? More info would help. Maybe someone who has experience with this light can jump in.

Atleast 18 inches usually, anything from 18 to 24 inches so you may be way too close.

~The grow guides talking about LEDS would have been written years ago, I dont think KIND LED's are the best nowadays. There is a lot more competition out there and much better light.

@im_sparky It is a big site, my apologies! But yes, I only saw a picture with the KIND brand here under “Standard LED Lights.”

I added a couple pics of the plant that was starting to light burn, though it was much more yellow and some leaves almost white by the time I chopped it down. It also could have been regular stress along with; I moved it under a different light mid-flower without gradually adjusting the plant to that light. The light was already at the top of my tent so I couldn’t raise it any more. But anywho, just was curious if anyone was basically still using these. Until I’m able to upgrade, I’ll try just pulling the branches down and try scrogging the next plant.

@commoncannaisseur I was literally just telling someone else about the appearance of this very problem a few hours ago.  Let me first just confirm that you first saw this on the top of the plant first (probably what leads one to think it is about the light), and that is progressed from yellow, to light yellow, to near or complete white, and it perhaps progressed from the top of the plant downwards. If that is what happened, then it is not light bleaching at all. Instead, these are all the classic signs of a very common deficiency seen throughout agriculture: iron deficiency.  Am I right about the progression of the symptoms? If so, I would be curious to know what medium you are growing in and what nutrients you used.
